THE LIVELY TOKYO AZABUJUBAN
Put Azabujuban’s dining neighbourhood, wide beds and atmospheric common spaces into the same Tokyo trip.

How Would I Choose?
If you want a hotel that is not just somewhere to go back and sleep, but somewhere to sit in an attractive common space for a drink, a chat or sorting an itinerary, I would put THE LIVELY Tokyo Azabujuban on the shortlist. Its design, bar and neighbourhood dining are distinctive, and it suits anyone who likes Azabujuban and Roppongi and is willing to spend a little time in the hotel.
Choose a room by bed width first: a 20㎡ Double has one 140 cm bed, a 25㎡ King has a 240 cm bed, and only a group travelling together should look at a Loft with a terrace, bunk beds and a sofa bed. Many standard room types here use a shower, so wanting a bath, a terrace or a room with a view of Tokyo Tower should all be settled before booking, rather than deciding from common-space and city night-view photos alone.
Access: Choose Your Route via Azabujuban or Roppongi
The address is 1-5-23 Azabujuban, Minato-ku.the hotel’s official access pagelists about a 7-minute walk from Azabujuban Station Exit 4 and about 10 minutes from Roppongi Station Exit 3; different exits, underground lines and surface routes affect how it feels, so check which route you will walk before arriving.

With a large suitcase or a stroller, check firstAzabujuban Station barrier-free facilities. The Namboku and Oedo lines have lifts in different directions, and Exits 4 and 7 are ordinary exits that cannot simply be treated as lift exits; ground-level connections and neighbourhood slopes must also be considered together, and ordinary walking minutes should not be taken as a guarantee of a fully step-free route.
Standard check-in is at 15:00 and check-out at 11:00. If arriving early, leaving on a late flight or wanting to send luggage, I would ask first about storage, receipt and collection arrangements. The Azabujuban neighbourhood is well suited to eating something before coming back, but with suitcases it is easier to confirm the entrance and floor first.
Three Main Room Types: 140 cm Beds, 240 cm Beds and Lofts for Groups
According to the official rooms page, and Double, King and Loft are positioned very differently. Two guests sharing a bed, friends travelling as a group, or anyone wanting their own terrace should compare directly from the named versions.
| Room Type | Official Size / Beds | Room Difference |
|---|---|---|
| Lively Double | 20㎡ / one 140 cm bed | Standard shower layout; compare first for two light packers or a solo traveller |
| Lively King | 25㎡ / one 240 cm bed | Values shared-bed width, with more activity space than a Double |
| Lively Loft | 40㎡, with terrace / four 120 cm beds + sofa bed; up to 5 guests | Has bunk beds and a living room, plus a bathtub; accept the ladder and shared circulation |

Double and King do not differ only in name: the feel of sharing a 140 cm bed versus a 240 cm bed differs greatly, but floor space must still be left for luggage. I would first choose a bed by sleep habits, then consider whether two large suitcases need to be opened every day; anyone wanting to use a computer in the room should also compare the actual desk with the common work areas.
A Loft Terrace and Bunk Beds Are Another Way of Staying

A Loft suits family or friends who want to share the living room and terrace. Four beds plus a sofa bed does not mean an ordinary Double can be topped up to five guests at short notice; enter the number of companions, the sofa-bed bedding and the fees clearly under the Loft plan. The upper bunks need a ladder, so anyone travelling with small children, older guests or someone with sore knees should agree in advance who sleeps where.
To use a bathtub or a terrace, choose the Loft version that clearly corresponds; do not take its photos as proof that every room has the same outdoor space. Terrace use times, noise and safety rules should also be followed as set out in the check-in instructions.
Showers, Daylight and Guest Photos

Photos of standard Double and King rooms show the washbasin, toilet and shower as separate zones, and not every room has a bathtub. Some guests like the overall design, attention to cleanliness and comfort, while others mention blocked views from the window or a view that was not as expected; if daylight, room direction or quiet matters particularly, asking directly before booking is more practical than judging from city night-view photos.
Guest Breakfast: A Main-Course Plate with Soup, Salad and Drinks
According to the official recent breakfast introduction, THE LIVELY KITCHEN currently lists a guest-only breakfast, 07:30–11:00 with last orders at 10:30, at 2,500 yen per person including tax; plans without breakfast can ask about adding it on at check-in. Confirm availability by your own stay dates, booking and on-site information.

The format is a main-course plate with soup, salad and a self-serve drinks area; main courses introduced include a baked ham and cheese sandwich, bacon and sausage scrambled eggs, a smoked salmon and avocado open sandwich, and Greek yoghurt with fruit and grains. The multiple main courses in the gallery are examples of choices, not every plate each person receives at once; that day’s dishes may also change.
Guest photos add what breakfast actually looks like, and guests have given positive feedback on breakfast and its light combinations.the restaurant information pagealso notes that general business for outside customers is suspended during a renovation period, so non-guests should not simply assume they can walk in and eat; guests follow their breakfast-included plan, add-on and the day’s notices.
For a single night when you want to eat and then leave slowly, this plate breakfast suits well; if you must catch transport before 07:30, prepare another breakfast first. For several nights, you can eat in the hotel one day and go to a café near Azabujuban the next, giving mornings more variety.
Common Spaces: Work, Pool and an Evening Drink, as the Mood Takes You

The official introduction says the lobby offers different seating choices, work desks and Wi-Fi, as well as common-space activities such as pool. For anyone who needs to come back midway to sort an itinerary, do a little work or meet companions, these places are very attractive; actual use, phone calls and activity rules follow the hotel’s instructions, and not every table should be treated as a private office that can be occupied for a long time.
The hotel has a free evening beer service for guests, plus THE LIVELY BAR on the top floor. Check the day’s information for the free service’s times, items and drinking rules; bar purchases are a separate arrangement from the free beer, and the brands and menu in photos do not mean a fixed daily offering.
Guests often praise the design, the common-area atmosphere and the staff, and some enjoy chatting and playing pool here. Anyone who likes socialising can leave a little more time; anyone wanting quiet rest should first confirm the room direction and activity times, and use the common spaces at their own pace. Cleaning, towels, borrowed items and laundry needs can also be asked about at check-in.

Azabujuban’s restaurants, cafés and shopping streets are why many guests like this location. Going to Roppongi for exhibitions and shopping, then returning to Azabujuban for dinner, can be arranged on the same day; whether popular restaurants need reservations should still be checked individually.
The tower and arts buildings above were photographed by guests while out, and are not the view from every room. For one night only, I would leave time for dinner nearby and the hotel’s common spaces; for two or three nights, separate the Roppongi arts itinerary from a slow stroll in Azabujuban, so that rushing between sights does not use up the most distinctive time at the hotel.
Strengths and Trade-offs: Love the Common Spaces, but Still Pick the Right Room
- Worth looking forward to: distinctive design, bar and common lounge spaces, suited to spending time in the hotel too.
- Worth looking forward to: Double, 240 cm King and Lofts for groups, chosen by sleep style and companions.
- Worth looking forward to: Azabujuban dining, Roppongi itineraries and guest breakfast, giving daily plans variety.
- Think about this first: a Double has one 140 cm bed, so two guests’ large suitcases still need space allocated.
- Think about this first: standard room types are mainly shower-based; a bathtub or terrace requires a Loft, which also involves a ladder.
- Think about this first: the view cannot be inferred from city night-view photos, and breakfast for outside customers and breakfast for guests should also be viewed separately.
How Do I Choose in the End?
I would recommend THE LIVELY Tokyo Azabujuban to anyone who likes design, common spaces and neighbourhood dining. Two guests should first compare the 140 cm Double and the 240 cm King, and a group should then look at the Loft’s bunk beds and terrace; thinking through showers, daylight and breakfast arrangements first makes it easier to enjoy this hotel’s way of life.
