How would I choose?
When a family goes out, what is most needed is sometimes not one more pretty sofa, but being able to put food bought in the evening on the table, wash the children’s clothes, and then decide together how to play tomorrow. MONday Apart Hamamatsucho Daimon has rooms of about 35 sqm, a kitchen, and in-room laundry equipment, so I would put it on the comparison list for a four-person longer stay in Tokyo.
This place is more like a travel residence with a reception desk: beds, sofas, dining tables, and appliances are arranged together in the room, so everyday life can be managed by yourself. Room types still need careful choosing: some have a top bunk, while the theatre room takes another route with sofa beds and projection equipment. The animal-plush photo above belongs to the theatre family room; not every room has one.
- Location: 1-10-4 Shiba Daimon, Minato-ku, Tokyo; Daimon A6 and Onarimon A2 regular routes each about 4 minutes, JR Hamamatsucho north exit about 8 minutes.
- Room types: Superior Family / King about 35.23 sqm; theatre family room about 35.25 sqm, all listed for 4 guests.
- Living equipment: IH kitchen, microwave, refrigerator, tableware, and in-room washer-dryer, suited to people who want to arrange their own meals and laundry.
- Note: no breakfast is provided; housekeeping is not a full daily service, so confirm the top bunk, sofa-bed, and King bed layout first.
Daimon and Onarimon are both walkable; with lots of luggage, check the lifts separately
According to the hotel’s transport page, the regular routes are about a 4-minute walk from Daimon Station Exit A6 or Onarimon Station Exit A2, and about 8 minutes from the JR Hamamatsucho north exit. When travelling with children, I first think through the route to ride that day, then choose an exit; a group dragging luggage along one easy-to-recognise route is often easier than simply chasing the shortest one.
Daimon Station’s ground-level lifts can be confirmed at A1, B4, and B5; the regular nearby A6 route is not the same lift route. From platform to ticket gate and ground level, follow the station’s internal lift connections. There is still no complete official step-free map for the height differences on the road from the lift exit to the hotel, so stroller or wheelchair users can ask about the route first. Standard check-in is 15:00 and check-out 10:00; on departure day, also leave some margin for laundry and packing.

Three kinds of 35 sqm family rooms: the difference is in the beds and life after returning to the room
Superior Family and Superior King are both 35.23 sqm, and the official site lists both with two 100 x 200 cm beds, an 85 x 195 cm sofa bed, and an 82 x 195 cm top bunk, for 4 guests. The name King easily suggests one large bed, but the official size chart still lists two 100 cm beds; if you want joined beds, confirm the actual bed layout first and do not rely only on the Chinese room name.
The theatre family room on floors 10 to 12 is 35.25 sqm, listed with two 100 x 200 cm beds and two 90 x 195 cm sofa beds, with projection equipment and one animal-plush chair per room. If you want to watch video together, or do not want to arrange for children to climb to a top bunk, compare this type first; projection content and account use still follow the on-site equipment instructions. After the beds are spread out, also picture the dining-table and luggage routes together.
| Room type | Sleeping layout listed on the official site | Comparison points |
|---|---|---|
| Superior Family | 35.23 sqm; two 100 x 200 cm beds, 85 x 195 cm sofa bed, 82 x 195 cm top bunk | Floors 2 to 7; suited to four travelling together who accept bunk beds first |
| Superior King | 35.23 sqm; size chart likewise lists two 100 x 200 cm beds, a sofa bed, and a top bunk | Floors 8 to 9; confirm whether beds are joined and the actual bedding layout |
| Superior Family theatre room | 35.25 sqm; two 100 x 200 cm beds, two 90 x 195 cm sofa beds | Floors 10 to 12; projection equipment and animal-plush chair; watch the walkways after beds are spread out |

Kitchen, dining table, and in-room laundry are the stars of a longer stay
The IH kitchen, microwave, refrigerator, and tableware mean dinner does not have to send the whole family out again to find seats. You can simply buy ingredients or ready food and share it around the dining table; reading the in-room instructions first makes using pots, heating equipment, and rubbish sorting smoother. If you definitely need certain seasonings, pot sizes, or children’s tableware, it is also worth asking first rather than assuming every item is provided.
The washer-dryer is right in the room, and the most convenient part is not having to take turns watching a shared washing machine. When arranging a longer stay, laundry can be fitted into rest gaps; follow the machine and hotel instructions for the actual wash cycle, which clothes are suitable, and how to get detergent. The kitchen photos below include equipment illustrations shared across room types and do not mean every room’s cabinet positions are exactly the same.

Bathtub and shower area are separate, making it easier to arrange a family taking turns to bathe
Room photos show the bathtub, shower area, washbasin, and toilet arranged in separate zones, which helps four people wash in turn. While one person bathes, others can still tidy themselves according to each zone’s layout, without squeezing everything into one small bathroom.
When travelling with small children or older relatives, besides checking whether the bathtub is large, also confirm the bathroom-entrance height difference, slip resistance, and the assistance space needed; these photos cannot be taken directly as proof of an accessible room type.

Guest photos: look at the beds, appliances, and top bunk as actually used
This photo set comes from Superior King and Superior Family guests, including bedside areas, the kitchen, the washer-dryer, the bathroom, and the top-bunk ladder. For family travel, these small details are most worth looking at: whether you can walk past after luggage is put down, where to tidy up after eating, and where adults stand when children use the top bunk.
Many travellers like the roomier space, complete equipment, and friendly front desk, while others feel cleaning details and housekeeping frequency fell short of expectations. Good reviews of Chinese-language communication appear in some stays and cannot guarantee Chinese-speaking staff at every hour; if you have special needs, confirm in writing in advance. The buildings outside the window in the photos also remind us that Tokyo Tower being nearby does not mean rooms necessarily have a tower view.

The hotel does not serve breakfast: leave the morning to your own dining table
This apartment hotel’s FAQ states clearly that breakfast is not provided. The room has a kitchen, microwave, and tableware, so you can buy bread, milk, fruit, or food to heat up the day before and eat slowly in the morning at the family’s own pace; not having to rush all four people to a restaurant before going out is itself a comfort.
There are convenience stores and supermarkets nearby, and the front desk can help introduce neighbourhood shops. If you prefer sitting down for brunch, cafes or bakeries around Shiba Park can be arranged as part of a stroll; confirm opening hours and waiting conditions before setting out. Nearby restaurant photos here are not presented as hotel breakfast.
Housekeeping is not a full daily clean: state the services you need clearly first
The official FAQ lists bed-making every 3 days starting the day after check-in; if extra room cleaning is needed, it is currently 5,000 yen including tax per time, requested from the front desk by 10:00 the previous day. People who want a full tidy-up every time they return should first confirm whether they are comfortable with this apartment-style rhythm; towel replacement and rubbish handling can be asked about together.
There is a reception desk, making it easier to find someone to ask about borrowed items and neighbourhood information, but everyday life is still mainly arranged by travellers themselves. For families willing to sort rubbish themselves, use appliances, and tidy the dining table, this freedom is very practical; if you want extensive dining and round-the-clock hotel service, those needs should be ranked higher when choosing.

A stroll to Tokyo Tower and Zojoji Temple, without filling every evening
Zojoji Temple, Shiba Park, and Tokyo Tower fit well into one slower half-day; on fine days, walk a stretch in daylight and see the lights after dinner for a different feeling. Below are travellers’ neighbourhood stroll photos; blossom conditions and lighting belong to the time of shooting, not fixed scenes all year round.
There are also restaurants and daily supplies near the hotel, which family travellers often praise together with the kitchen and laundry. My plan would be to eat out for some meals and keep one or two evenings for food bought back to share in the room, so the trip does not have to rely on finding restaurants every day to keep its rhythm.

Is it right for four people staying longer? Confirm bed types and living habits first
If your companions are willing to share the dining table and kitchen, want to pack fewer changes of clothes, and hope all four people stay in one room, this place is well worth comparing. A short stay can also enjoy the larger in-room space, but the longer you stay, the more easily the kitchen and laundry’s practicality is usually felt.
I would first ask about the top bunk’s age and safety arrangements, whether the sofa bed has been made up for the number of guests, and whether King matches the joined-bed layout wanted. People whose sleep is easily disturbed by companions can also consider whether splitting into two rooms suits better; having space does not mean everyone’s routines are completely unaffected by each other.
- Pros: about 35 sqm room types, kitchen dining table, and in-room washer-dryer, practical for a family of four and longer stays.
- Watch out: no hotel breakfast, no full daily housekeeping, and cleaning impressions and service languages vary individually.
- Room-choice advice: accept bunk beds, look at Family / King; want projection and two sofa beds, look at the theatre room; confirm bedding and bed layout before check-in.
How to choose in the end
I would recommend treating MONday Apart Hamamatsucho Daimon as a travel residence where you can eat well, do laundry, and sort out daily life. Talk through first how four people’s beds are divided, how breakfast is eaten, and how often housekeeping comes; then time spent back in the room sitting around the same dining table will feel easier.
