What would I choose?

If I were to spend a night in Tokyo focusing on the hotel itself, I would include MESM in the comparison. Takeshiba’s location, views, and Chapter 1 rooms starting at 40 square meters are suitable for people who want to sit and relax and look out the window after returning to their rooms, rather than just sleeping for a few hours.

I’ll choose the bed type and view first, then decide if I need a terrace or more living space. Also, there are different versions of the Chapter name; you can’t expect all rooms to be the same based on just one photo with a terrace.

What attracts me, and what I need to think about before ordering.

What attracts me

  • Chapter 1 is 40 square meters, with two beds each 135 centimeters wide, which can be selected according to sleeping style.
  • You can compare different routes to Takeshiba, Hamamatsucho, and Daimon.
  • The scenery and time spent inside the museum are appealing, making it a perfect place to slow down and relax for an evening.

I will keep an eye on it.

  • You need to carefully select the version with options such as Terrace, Garden View, and Executive.
  • The general route to Hamamatsucho North Exit differs from the route via the platform elevator.
  • Special services and benefits are explained first, but guests’ service experience can vary.

Location and Transportation: Plan your route in advance if you have luggage.

The official route is about 6 minutes from Hamamatsucho North Exit, about 3 minutes from Takeshiba Station, and about 7 minutes from the B1/B2 exit of the main gate. The hotel is located at 1-10-30 Kaigan. I would choose the station based on whether I’m coming from the airport or the city center, rather than transferring twice just for the nearest station.

The Hamamatsucho platform elevator connects the 3rd floor south entrance to the monorail transfer level; the shortcut from the north entrance cannot be used as the elevator route. For the main entrance, elevators A1, B4, and B5 can be compared. If you have a trolley or large suitcase and need to avoid stairs throughout the journey, please request a connecting elevator after exiting the station.

Surrounding Itinerary: How would I plan my trip while staying here?

I’ll leave the coastal city scenery around Takeshiba for this part of my stay, taking a walk in the morning or evening, and then arrange dining in the Hamamatsu area. If you want to enjoy the room and the view, don’t schedule dinner too far away; make returning to your room part of the itinerary as well.

Room type and space: Think about the bed and travel companions together.

Chapter 1 is 40 square meters, with two twin beds measuring 135×203 cm and one king bed measuring 180×203 cm; the garden view, terrace, and executive versions are available separately. Chapter 2 is 43 to 44 square meters, with a king bed measuring 180×203 cm and a curved layout.

For those wanting separate living and dining areas, compare the 95㎡ Chapter 3; the Chapter 4 Suite Luxe is 180㎡, with a bed measuring 200×203 cm. Suites and basic rooms serve different purposes, so I choose based on the amount of time spent in the room, rather than just looking at photos of the largest room.

How should breakfast be arranged?

Chef’s Theatre breakfast is served from 6:30 to 10:30. Some guests appreciate the variety and sophistication of the breakfast selection. If you can enjoy it at a leisurely pace, it’s worth comparing options that include breakfast. Generally, the cost of individual breakfasts and the menu for the day should be clarified when booking.

If you need to catch an early bus or train, plan your meal and departure times in advance. If you’re staying for an extended period, you can reserve a few days to eat out, instead of having the same schedule for every morning.

Things I’ll pay attention to when staying one night versus staying consecutively.

Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 12:00 PM. If I’m only staying one night, I’ll allow time for the evening and breakfast; if I’m staying for two nights, I’ll alternate between relaxing at the hotel and going out into the city to make better use of the room space.

Guests frequently mention the views and facilities, but some also express a noticeable discrepancy between expectations and reality regarding service. It’s reassuring to clarify and confirm the benefits of any anniversary celebrations, special assistance requests, or membership needs beforehand, rather than expecting extra arrangements upon arrival.
