What would I choose?

If you enjoy Nishi-Azabu cuisine and also want to stay in a stylish room, I would add the S Roppongi Hotel to my list. Its appeal lies in the unique spatial characteristics of its different room types, from simple double rooms to larger rooms with a living feel, making it suitable for comparing rooms at your leisure depending on your travel style.

I don’t make a decision based on just one picture of a large room. A double room of 17 to 21 square meters and a room with a design of around 40 square meters are very different in terms of living purpose; when staying for a long time and needing to do laundry, I should look for the full name of the room that has a washer and dryer.

What attracts me, and what I need to think about before ordering.

What attracts me

  • The Nishi-Azabu dining area is ideal for combining dinner with a walk around the neighborhood.
  • The room designs vary greatly, so you can choose according to your desired accommodation atmosphere.
  • Some room types have washer-dryers, which is helpful for travelers staying for extended periods.

I will keep an eye on it.

  • There’s a significant difference between the standard Double room and the larger room types; don’t expect a basic room based on a suite layout.
  • Not every room has a washer-dryer.
  • Please specify your requirements in advance regarding blackout, bathroom odor control, or extra beds.

Location and Transportation: Plan your route in advance if you have luggage.

It’s about a 6-minute walk from Exit 2 of Roppongi Station on the Hibiya Line, about a 7-minute walk from Exit 4b of the Oedo Line, and about an 8-minute walk from Exit 5 of Nogizaka Station. The hotel address is 1-11-6 Nishi-Azabu. I will choose the station according to the route I take that day, so as not to transfer twice just to get the nearest exit.

The Hibiya Line can be reached via the Roppongi interchange to elevator 4a, while the Oedo Line can be reached via elevator 7. Make sure you understand the exit system. If you have luggage and need a route without stairs, ask the hotel for directions from the elevator exit to the entrance; do not rely on the usual walking time from the exit.

Surrounding Itinerary: How would I plan my trip while staying here?

I plan to combine dinner in Nishi-Azabu and the Roppongi Arts Centre tour on the same day, then leisurely return to my room afterward. If you want to take advantage of the room’s design and rest space, remember to reserve one night to avoid rushing around; for those who only sleep a few hours a day, a standard room can be a more practical choice.

Room type and space: Think about the bed and travel companions together.

Double rooms are 17-21 square meters and accommodate 2 people; Deluxe Twin rooms are 29 square meters and have two 120cm beds. Those who prefer to sleep in separate beds can compare Twin rooms first, without having to force themselves to share a bed for the sake of room atmosphere.

ZEN is 45㎡, REN, LIN, and Luxury are about 40㎡, and Luxury Twin is 45㎡, each with a different design. The washer and dryer are listed under Luxury Twin, REN, LIN, Luxury, Patio, and Deluxe Twin. When you want to do laundry, simply refer to the full room name.

How should breakfast be arranged?

The hotel offers both coconoma and buffet breakfast. I’ll first see if I can sit down and have a leisurely breakfast the next day before comparing options that include breakfast; if I want to go out for coffee, I don’t need to force myself to buy breakfast separately. Serving times and current prices are subject to the catering arrangements at the time of booking.

Things I’ll pay attention to when staying one night versus staying consecutively.

Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. If I’m staying one night, I’ll allow some time to choose a room with a design I like; if I’m staying for several nights, I’ll be more concerned about laundry facilities, blackout areas, luggage storage, and rest space.

Some guests praised the staff and location, while others had reservations about bathroom odors, extra beds, and blackouts. If traveling with a third party, it’s advisable to clarify the extra bed arrangements beforehand; those sensitive to light or odors should also make their requests before booking.
