Fairmont Tokyo: Tokyo Tower and Bay Views, Gold Benefits and Breakfast

Fairmont Tokyo

Prioritize enjoying the views from the skyscrapers and your hotel time. Choosing a Tokyo Tower, bay view, or Gold Privilege option is more important than just looking at the floor level.

What would I choose?

If I were looking for a nice hotel stay in Tokyo, with views and a relaxing atmosphere, I would include the Fairmont Tokyo in my comparison. The views from its high-rise in Shibaura, along with its new facilities and services, are frequently cited as attractions by guests, making it suitable for those who want to integrate the hotel experience into their itinerary.

I’ll first decide whether I want to see Tokyo Tower or the bay, and then see if I need the Gold Lounge. The view, floor, and lounge access are different options, especially for people who are out and about every day; they may not need to pay extra for the entire hotel experience.

What attracts me, and what I need to think about before ordering.

What attracts me

  • Views such as Bay View and Tokyo Tower View can be selected according to personal preference.
  • There are different room types available for Fairmont and Fairmont Gold, which can be compared according to usage.
  • Some guests appreciate the facilities, views, and attentive service, making it a place worth spending time enjoying.

I will keep an eye on it.

  • Some guests mentioned the sound of the railway, and those who are light sleepers requested a quiet room first.
  • One cannot expect specific views and privacy solely based on the height of the building.
  • Breakfast in standard rooms and Gold Lounge benefits are different; please be aware of the different plans.

Location and Transportation: Plan your route in advance if you have luggage.

The hotel is located at 1-1-1 Shibaura. I will save the full English name Fairmont Tokyo and address in advance, and ask the hotel for the entrance that best suits my route before arriving; if I have a lot of luggage, I can also compare the last leg of the journey.

If you are traveling through Hamamatsucho, the JR platform elevator connects to the 3rd floor south exit and the monorail transfer level; the north exit generally follows a different route than the elevator. For those who need to avoid stairs throughout the journey, please request the hotel to provide complete directions from the elevator exit to the building entrance, and do not simply follow the shortest walking route.

Surrounding Itinerary: How would I plan my trip while staying here?

I’ll save the seaside city views of Shibaura and Hamamatsu for this stay, and arrange the rest of my Tokyo itinerary according to transportation. Guests also mentioned the convenient location of the building and surrounding restaurants; those who want to relax at the hotel don’t need to schedule dinners far away every day.

Room type and space: Think about the bed and travel companions together.

Room types include Bay View, Tokyo Tower View, and Signature, and also Fairmont and Fairmont Gold, with options for King or two single beds. If you want a view of Tokyo Tower, simply select the correct view name; simply requesting a high floor does not replace room type selection.

Gold rooms and suites include access to Gold Lounge breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening service. If you plan to stay at the hotel for an extended period, you can factor these benefits into the value; if you require a specific bed type, privacy, or view, please inform the hotel of your expectations beforehand.

How should breakfast be arranged?

Standard rooms typically include breakfast, while breakfast at the Gold Lounge depends on the specific room type and benefits. I’ll decide where I want to eat breakfast first, then compare the overall price differences, and not assume all room rates include breakfast.

Guests have different opinions about breakfast: some like the à la carte main courses and the presentation of the dishes, while others feel that the selection is not extensive. Those who prefer to sit and eat at a leisurely pace will find it more useful; if they need to leave early, they should consider both time and options.

Things I’ll pay attention to when staying one night versus staying consecutively.

Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 12:00 PM. If I stay one night, I’ll use the evening and the next morning to enjoy the scenery; if I stay two nights, I’ll alternate between city outings and hotel rest, so I don’t have to be exhausted every day before I come back.

Some guests mentioned the sound of trains in the morning, while others had concerns about the privacy of their rooms facing the public areas. If you are a light sleeper, want to avoid being seen, or came specifically for the view, please make your needs clear when booking; inquire about facility usage and special arrangements in advance to make your expectations for the night more realistic.
