Anshin Oyado Tokyo Man Shimbashi: Men-Only Capsules, Bath and Curry
For solo male travelers, the nearby capsule hotels are practical, with amenities like bathhouses and complimentary curry meals, but the need to weigh the quietness and privacy to the individual.

What would I choose?
If a male is traveling alone in Tokyo for only one or two nights and looking for a place near Shinbashi with a public bath, I would include this reassuring hotel in my comparison list. The complimentary curry meal and public bath provide extra amenities beyond just a capsule bed.
It’s still a shared space accommodation: luggage, showering, and resting require coordinating with other travelers. If I prefer private rooms or am sensitive to noise, I’d think carefully before deciding if this pace suits me.
What attracts me, and what I need to think about before ordering.
What attracts me
Transportation is easy to arrange for solo male travelers staying overnight near Xinqiao Wusenkou.
- It has a bathhouse and public rest area, suitable for people who want to relax in a bath.
- Free curry and white rice from 6:00 to 10:00 AM, you can have a quick meal before heading out.
- I will keep an eye on it.
For men only, one capsule per person, bathroom in a shared space.
- The upper and lower cabins have different access methods and cannot be treated as ordinary rooms.
- Guests have different perceptions of sound, smell, and soundproofing; light sleepers need to consider these factors.
- Location and Transportation: Plan your route in advance if you have luggage.
The website describes the walk from Shin-chō Ussen Exit as either 30 seconds or 2 minutes, both referring to the closest station. I will allocate my time based on the actual route, finding the exit, and collecting my luggage, and not assume the 30 seconds is the time to get from the platform to my berth.
JR platforms can be accessed via elevator to the 1st floor ticket check and the underground Shiodome line; Tokyo Metro and Toei have their own exit routes. When bringing large suitcases, first select the appropriate elevator, then ask the station staff for directions from outside the station to the entrance; don’t just remember the name of the Ussori Exit.
Surrounding Itinerary: How would I plan my trip while staying here?
I’ll have dinner around Shinbashi and then plan my itinerary in Ginza, Shiodome, or other parts of Tokyo. If I’m only staying one night, I’ll make better use of the accommodation facilities by taking a bath and unpacking rather than rushing into the hotel late at night.
Room type and space: Think about the bed and travel companions together.
Each male-only capsule is for one person and is typically configured with upper and lower levels. The capsule is approximately 1 meter wide, 2 meters deep, and 1 meter high. This is the size of the capsule itself, not a room where you can stand and move around. People who are concerned about turning over, climbing ladders, or feeling confined should consider this beforehand.
The bathroom is in a shared space. Please ask about how to store large suitcases and access personal belongings upon check-in; it will be more convenient to pack your nighttime essentials into small bags than to keep carrying a large suitcase.

From 6:00 to 10:00, there is complimentary curry and white rice available for self-service; miso soup and other soups are served throughout the day. This is a simple way to replenish energy, and I would treat it as a snack before heading out rather than expecting a full Western-style buffet.
If you prefer something different for breakfast, there are other dining options nearby, so you don’t have to change your original plans just for the free service. Just check the daily menu inside the facility upon arrival.

Capsules are generally available from 3:00 PM, while counter services begin at 12:00 PM; earlier use is subject to availability. Capsule check-out is at 12:00 PM. If you wish to use the public rest area and bathing area between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM after check-out, you must request this before 12:00 PM.
Guests generally approve of the cleanliness and assistance provided, though some have mentioned issues with the capsule’s sound or smell. Short stays are easier to coordinate with the shared routine; for extended stays, it’s best to inquire about luggage, cleaning, and daytime usage rules beforehand to make daily comings and goings smoother.
