Tokyu Stay Tsukiji – Tokyo Ginza Area

Tokyu Stay Tsukiji – Tokyo Ginza Area

If I wanted to explore Tsukiji early and wash my clothes in the room at night, Tokyu Stay Tsukiji would be on my list. Right by Tsukiji Outer Market, it lets you eat breakfast, return to organize your belongings and continue toward Ginza. In-room washer-dryers and microwaves are especially useful for traveling light.

Before choosing a room, I would ask whether I need a kitchenette and whether two travelers want separate beds. The 15 m² Moderate suits light packing, the 18 m² Residential Double adds a kitchenette, and the 26 m² twin gives more room for dining and separate beds. The market location is convenient but not necessarily quiet, and housekeeping needs attention.

Why choose it, and what to accept

  • Suitable for: Early Tsukiji walks, frequent laundry and travelers who prefer practical in-room amenities.
  • Room choice: The 15 m² and 18 m² rooms differ in bed width and kitchenette; for separate beds and space, compare the 26 m² twin.
  • Trade-offs: Light housekeeping during longer stays must be requested, not assumed to include daily bed-making. The busy market area may not suit light sleepers.
  • Check upcoming changes: Stay Morning Plus is scheduled to finish in early December 2026; exterior works are announced from December 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027.

15, 18 or 26 m²? Check laundry and kitchenette separately

All three room types provide a washer-dryer and microwave. Choose a room with a kitchenette if you want a sink for preparing food. Compare the exact room name, floor area and amenities rather than just choosing ‘double’.

The 15 m² Moderate works for one person spending most days outside. Two people sharing its 140 cm bed with large suitcases will have less room to move. The 18 m² Residential Double has a 160 cm bed and kitchenette, useful for sorting food bought in the market.

Two friends wanting separate beds should compare the 26 m² Superior Twin, with two 120 cm beds, a dining table and preparation area. With lots of baggage, check the passages between furniture and beds rather than relying on floor area alone.

Guest room photos: passages and laundry in a Moderate room

Guest pictures help show how the Moderate room is actually arranged, including shelves by the washer, the microwave and fridge. Consider whether these positions fit your routine.

Having a washer inside the room removes the need to wait for a public laundry machine. The trade-off is that appliances and shelves occupy the available space; multi-suitcase unpacking, working or dining needs careful room selection.

Bathroom with a bath and shower curtain; amenities can change

The bathroom combines a tub and shower. Photos show the sink, toilet and curtain layout. It is practical for soaking after sightseeing, but confirm thresholds and tub access if they matter to you.

The hotel lists ReFa hair dryers and shower heads, appealing if the evening routine matters to you. Toiletry brands may change, so bring a preferred product if particular about it.

Breakfast vouchers and heat-in-room meals may change in late 2026

Breakfast is not simply one fixed hotel buffet. The official website describes two approaches: vouchers at partner restaurants or Stay Morning Plus meals to heat in your room. For an early market visit, see which partners are along your route; for a quiet morning inside, consider the room meal.

Partner breakfast vouchers: Reference price is ¥900 including tax. Partners include six restaurants at Tsukiji Uogashi Shokudo, Sushizanmai main/annex and Hoshino Coffee Tsukiji. The listed 7:00–11:00 hours do not mean every partner opens at the same time or offers the same menu. Compare vouchers with ordering independently in the market.

Stay Morning Plus: Reference price ¥1,500 including tax for Japanese or Western meals collected and warmed in the room. Rice-cooker loans may be available. Listed 7:00–11:00 and 15:00–21:00 periods concern collection/service, not a restaurant open for breakfast until evening.

From December 2026: Stay Morning Plus is scheduled to finish in early December, with changes to food service. Confirm what is available on your actual date before paying for a breakfast package.

The photos show partner restaurant dishes and examples of the in-room meals. Choose seafood, a café breakfast or a room meal according to your habits; menus are subject to change.

About four minutes from Tsukiji Exit 1; check elevators with luggage

Address: 4-11-5 Tsukiji, Chuo City, Tokyo. Walk about four minutes from Tsukiji Exit 1 or Tsukijishijo A1, about five from Higashi-ginza Exit 6, or eight from Shintomicho Exit 4. Include station walking and signals with luggage.

With big suitcases, find elevators before heading up. Tsukiji Honganji-side ticket gates connect to elevators toward exits 1 and 2; the Irifunebashi side has the 3b elevator. Follow the signs from your arrival platform and navigate outside. Ask the hotel about full step-free access if required.

The market has stalls and crowds, so rolling luggage takes longer than walking empty-handed. Save an entrance photo so you are not trying to identify the building while moving cases through people.

Give Tsukiji a morning; save Ginza shopping for later

The key benefit is starting the day at Tsukiji Outer Market without traveling across town. Eat breakfast, then return to organize belongings or continue to Ginza. Before visiting, see our Tsukiji walking guide (Chinese) and Tsukiji food guide (Chinese).

For Ginza use the Ginza walking guide (Chinese) and Ginza dining guide (Chinese). Wako clock tower and market street photos illustrate the neighborhood, not hotel window views or identical walking times.

If you prefer calm residential streets, supermarkets and modern malls, the lively market location may not be an advantage. It suits early market explorers, while light sleepers or daytime nappers should consider street noise.

Laundry helps on long stays, but light cleaning needs a request

Over one or two nights, the washer can refresh clothes and reduce what you carry onward. On longer stays, the microwave and washer-dryer are even more useful, but choose a kitchenette-equipped room for food preparation.

Official cleaning information says light service during consecutive nights is request-based: follow the door-sign instructions. It mainly covers towel, bath mat and sleepwear replacement and rubbish removal, not full daily cleaning or bed-making. Stays of seven nights or more also have weekly room cleaning.

Construction, December 1, 2026–March 31, 2027: Planned work is 9 a.m.–6 p.m., excluding Sundays, with potentially more noise or paint odors from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Scaffolding or workers may be visible outside. If sleeping or working during daytime, ask about the impact before booking.

Lobby, exterior and coffee corner

The lobby has sofas, tables and areas for coffee and ice. It is useful for waiting for companions or resting before returning to the room; ask about extended use of seating.

Decide whether life beside the market suits your pace

The in-room washer is a big convenience after a long walking day, but it takes space alongside the refrigerator and shelving. In smaller rooms, two travelers may need to unpack in turns.

Some guests reported trouble with keycard sensors. Test the card when you get it and seek help immediately if it does not work, rather than discovering a problem late at night.

More than anything, I would ask whether I want to live beside Tsukiji Market. For easy morning food it works well; for quiet afternoons inside, consider neighborhood sounds and construction.

Think about guest count, baggage and daytime room use rather than relying only on a rating.

My choice: first decide on the market, then room and breakfast

For a Tsukiji-and-Ginza itinerary with laundry needs, I would shortlist it: 15 m² Moderate for one person, 18 m² Residential Double for two sharing a bed and simple food preparation, or 26 m² Superior Twin for separate beds and more dining space. Two people should not choose the smallest room just because it admits two guests.

For breakfast, compare partner-voucher restaurants with a meal in the room, confirming that any room-meal option is still provided for your dates. Anyone needing to work or sleep during the day between December 2026 and March 2027 should get a clear response about construction first.
