Mitsui Garden Hotel Ginza Tsukiji

Mitsui Garden Hotel Ginza Tsukiji

If you want to fit a Tsukiji breakfast, Ginza shopping, and doing laundry back in your room into one trip, I would put Mitsui Garden Ginza Tsukiji on the priority list. The in-room washer-dryer, microwave, and refrigerator say more about its convenience than the word “Ginza” alone; and if you want to soak in the large public bath at night, that is one more reason to come back to the hotel early.

First, see if this hotel suits you

  • Most noticeable convenience:Tsukiji breakfast, Ginza shopping, then back to the room to wash and dry clothes, and the large public bath at night.
  • How two people should choose:For a shared bed, look at the Queen rooms; for separate beds, look at the Standard or Superior Twin rooms; the Superior Twin has a shower only.
  • Worth noting:Cleaning on alternate days for consecutive stays, and a note that nearby construction affects the view from the Deluxe Triple room.

Choose the beds first, then look at luggage and living space

For two people sharing one bed, compare the 20.2 sqm Standard Queen room and the 22.3 sqm Superior Queen room; both beds are 163 cm wide, and the Superior room’s advantage is the extra living space. For two travel companions who each want their own bed, the 21.7 sqm Standard Twin has two 111 cm beds in a Hollywood twin configuration; the 26.2 sqm Superior Twin has two 122 cm beds, but only a shower space and no bathtub.

For a roomier stay, the 39.3 sqm Deluxe Corner Twin has two 123 cm beds. For three or four people travelling together, consider the 46 sqm Deluxe Triple room: three 122 cm beds, with the fourth person using a sofa bed; this arrangement is easier to plan than squeezing multiple people’s luggage into a two-person room. The official notice for this room type also warns that construction on the neighbouring site affects the view from the window, so confirm first if you particularly look forward to the view.

First check the Official hotel room types and stay information, then confirm the room type name and facilities on your order.

Should breakfast be included? Choose by the pace of your morning

Breakfast is served at GINZA ONO Gratia -Smoke Dining-. The official format is a choice of one of six main dishes, selectable side dishes, plus a semi-buffet; not every dish is laid out on the buffet counter. Japanese, Chinese, French toast, and plant-based options suit people who want to sit down and eat slowly. Served 07:00 to 11:00, last order 10:30.

If your trip already plans to eat at Tsukiji, you do not need breakfast included every day. You can plan one hotel breakfast day and leave your appetite for the market on another day. Guests have mixed feelings about breakfast taste and tableware cleanliness, so choose mainly by the menu style and your own morning pace.

Transport, usual exits, and how to walk with luggage

Address: Tsukiji 4-7-1, Chuo-ku, Tokyo 104-0045, Japan

On foot, it is about 3 minutes from Higashi-Ginza Station Exit 6, or about 4 minutes from Tsukiji Station Exit 2. If you are carrying large luggage, compare the elevators at the two stations: on the Hibiya Line, the Higashi-Ginza central gate leads to Exit 3, and the Mihara Bridge direction gate leads to A1; at Tsukiji, the Tsukiji Hongwanji direction gate leads to Exit 1 or Exit 2. Take the elevator to street level first and then navigate to the hotel; do not directly apply the Exit 6 walking time to an elevator exit.

When carrying large luggage or a stroller, confirm the two legs separately: from the platform to the ticket gate, and from the gate to street level; on the way back, also check whether the elevator leads to the platform you need. The nearest exit is not necessarily the best exit for carrying luggage.

Short stays and consecutive stays: what to watch for in each

The washing machine and large public bath suit consecutive stays well. The official website says rooms are cleaned every two days, and on non-cleaning days you can request towel and sleepwear exchange and rubbish collection. Guests also mention traffic noise and air-conditioning; light sleepers can request a quiet room when booking, but the view and room location cannot be guaranteed.

Below, different angles are grouped by use, so when choosing a room you can note the bedside passage, washbasin, and luggage space; the photos show different rooms and shooting situations, and the actual layout depends on the room type you book.

How to plan your itinerary so this stay is worth it

Leave the morning for Tsukiji, put Ginza shopping in the afternoon, and come back in the evening to do laundry and soak in the bath — that pace works best. If you mainly go to Shinjuku and Shibuya every day, still factor in transfer time; do not force this location just for the Ginza name.
