Hotel The Celestine Ginza

Between Ginza dinners and Shimbashi connections: a slower stay for two

Hotel The Celestine Ginza suits people who count the atmosphere of the room, an evening meal and proper rest as part of the trip. It is near Shimbashi yet within walking distance of Ginza, useful when you do not want to rush for a last train after dinner. I would choose the room first, then decide whether to have breakfast in the hotel.

First, check thisHow I would choose
Who it suitsA couple’s trip, anniversary or anyone who wants a polished room after exploring Ginza. If all you need is a cheap place to sleep and you will be out all day and night, the extra cost may not be worthwhile.
Choose your room carefullyThe official Superior Queen is 23.5 m² with a 164 cm bed; the Superior Corner Twin is 31.3 m² with two 123 cm beds; the Deluxe Twin is 34.2 m² with the same bed sizes plus room for a sofa.
Main trade-offThe room quality and service are appealing, although some travelers still find the rooms relatively small.

Choosing a room with enough luggage space

The Superior Queen is 23.5 m² with a 164 cm bed; the Superior Corner Twin is 31.3 m² with two 123 cm beds; the Deluxe Twin is 34.2 m² with the same beds plus a sofa and more space. The Executive Twin reaches 47.5 m² and has separate living, sleeping and dressing areas. For a short stay as a couple I would start with the Queen; if you want separate beds and time to relax in the room, compare the Corner and Deluxe Twins.

Arriving with luggage

The hotel lists JR Shimbashi Station’s Ginza Exit at about three minutes on foot, Shimbashi Ginza Line Exit 5 at about three minutes, and Ginza Station Exit C2 at about seven minutes. On my first arrival I would navigate toward the Shimbashi side and walk into Ginza 8-chome. With large suitcases, check station elevators separately; the closest underground exit is not necessarily the easiest.

Is breakfast worth adding? Check your morning schedule

The listing describes a set breakfast served from 07:00 to 12:00, and guests speak positively about it. Late risers may appreciate the hours, but check last orders and the exact meal arrangement with the hotel. Breakfast and dinner are different experiences: do not assume the elaborate dinner menu is representative of breakfast. I would compare the set menu and breakfast-inclusive price difference before deciding.

One night or several?

A short visit works well for a Ginza dinner followed by an unhurried breakfast. For longer stays with early starts and late returns, consider whether you will really use the room and dining experiences. The premium makes more sense when you can spend time at the hotel.

Trade-offs I would accept before booking

The room finishes and service are plus points, but some guests feel the rooms are not particularly large. If booking a base category, do not expect the sofa and view shown in suite photographs. Ginza 8-chome is lively at night, so ask about a quiet room if noise bothers you; allocation depends on availability.

Plan routes that avoid doubling back

Use a Ginza walking guide and the Tsukiji Outer Market guide to plan a route that avoids doubling back.

If this room layout and style of travel work for you, compare the final price for identical dates, number of guests and cancellation policies. Check the add-on cost for breakfast and a larger room separately so you only pay for the upgrades you will use.
