Sotetsu Fresa Inn Ochanomizu Jimbocho: Bookshops, Rooms and Cafe Breakfast

An easy base for the Jimbocho book district

Sotetsu Fresa Inn Ochanomizu Jimbocho is a useful base for browsing Jimbocho’s bookshops and neighborhood restaurants before returning to a relatively quiet street. Guests in March, June and July 2026 praised the book district and peaceful evenings. The trade-off is compact rooms and station exits that are not all convenient with luggage. I would choose it for a busy sightseeing itinerary rather than expect a large room for working all day.

Getting there without dragging bags up stairs

The address is 1-19-7 Kanda-Jimbocho, Chiyoda. The hotel’s detailed access page was under maintenance during the source check, so a fully verified nearest-exit time was unavailable. Trip guest estimates vary between a nearby 200 m station walk and a longer walk. Tokyo Metro’s Jimbocho accessibility guide lists a street elevator at Exit A2 from the Senshu University-side gates. Walking from A2 to the hotel was not measured, and Toei subway transfers have separate routes. A March guest struggled with baggage, but that does not mean the entire station has no elevator.

Don’t apply the smallest Single area to all rooms

The saved Trip cards show a smoking Single at 9 m² with one single bed, as well as a smoking Twin, smoking Deluxe Double, and nonsmoking Superior Double. Complete areas and widths for those other categories were not confirmed because the official room page was unavailable. Guest photographs show a compact bedside desk, a tub in some bathrooms and limited space for bags. A 9 m² Single cannot be used as the size for every Double or Twin. If I brought two cases or intended to buy many books, I would ask for the actual room plan and a nonsmoking option if needed.

Saint Marc Café breakfast

The official breakfast information last read listed a light set at the first-floor Saint Marc Café from 06:30 to 10:00, reference price ¥1,000 including tax. The offering includes warm bread, chocolate croissant choices and a drink, rather than a large buffet. Breakfast vouchers purchased at the hotel counter were listed as payable by credit card or QR payment only. The ten guest reviews did not give meaningful breakfast flavor feedback; I would choose it for a simple early bite and compare a room-only price if I wanted a fuller meal.

Laundry and longer stays

The saved source reviewed ten Trip posts with comments about small but clean rooms and quiet streets across several months of 2026. A March 28 guest reported coin-operated washing and drying on their floor, but the number and current operation of machines were not verified. Guests also mention self-service lobby amenities and luggage storage. For one or two nights with light luggage, the location works well; on a longer trip I would check the exact room area, laundry use, housekeeping frequency and the route from the elevator exit.
