Palace Hotel Tokyo: Choosing a Balcony Room, Club Benefits and Breakfast
Palace Hotel Tokyo
Palace Hotel Tokyo makes sense for travelers who want time around the Imperial Palace and Marunouchi as well as time to unwind at the hotel. I would decide first whether the balcony and its view matter, then compare the actual breakfast and club privileges included with each room. A Deluxe room does not automatically come with a balcony, and a club-category room serves a different purpose.

It’s worth spending more time on it, but also be aware of the limitations.
- Advantages: It has direct access to the Otemachi Underground Passage, and there is also an official walking route at the Marunouchi North Exit of Tokyo Station.
- Advantages: The basic Deluxe room is already 45 square meters, which provides more room for activities and luggage arrangements, but the choice of bed and floor plan still needs to be considered.
- Disadvantages: The balcony is a feature specific to this room type, and positive reviews of the balcony by guests cannot be applied to all Deluxe rooms.
- Disadvantages: Breakfast venues and club benefits have different rules, and it’s easy to miss service differences if you only look at the platform’s “breakfast included/not included” option.
Eight to ten minutes from Tokyo Station, Otemachi C13b direct access.
Official location pageIt’s about an 8-10 minute walk from the Marunouchi North Exit of Tokyo Station, and the Otemachi C13b station is directly accessible via an underground passage. If I arrive with luggage by Shinkansen, I’ll first decide whether to walk to the Marunouchi North Exit on the surface, or plan an underground transfer depending on the weather and my platform. I don’t assume that the distance from any Tokyo Station exit is an eight-minute walk from any platform.
The elevator layout still needs further investigation.Tokyo Metro Otemachi Equipment PageThe station is very large, with multiple elevators on each line. The fact that C13b is a direct connection does not prove that there are no stairs from each platform to the hotel. The connection and time measurement of elevators from each platform to C13b were not completed during this survey; therefore, the complete elevator exit route list needs to be supplemented. Passengers with strollers or wheelchairs should inform the hotel of their preferred route to obtain the designated directions.
Taking a stroll around the Imperial Palace area is a definite locational advantage, allowing for extended shopping and dining plans within Marunouchi. However, if your main activities are in Shinjuku and Shibuya each day, you should still consider the departure and return routes. Opening hours and accessible areas within the Imperial Palace grounds are subject to official announcements; staying nearby does not guarantee access at all times.

Balcony and Club: Two Different Issues to Choose From
| Official website type | area | difference |
|---|---|---|
| Deluxe | 45 square meters | Basic room types cannot be pre-designed with balconies. |
| Deluxe with Balcony | 45 square meters | The room name clearly lists the balcony. |
| Grand Deluxe | 55 square meters | Area increase |
| Club Deluxe/Club Deluxe with Balcony | 45 square meters | Clubs and balconies are still divided into two categories. |
Official room type pageVarious types can be compared, but the English and Chinese aliases for bed width and platform are not fully matched this time. If I want to stay on a balcony to enjoy the surrounding greenery, I would directly choose the Balcony type; if I care more about the interior space, I would compare the 55 square meter type. Not all orientations have the same view, and it cannot be inferred from the AI summary that every room has a view of Tokyo Tower.
The trip includes an indoor pool, gym, and spa, but current details such as the age limit for family use and pool hours have not yet been fully updated. For large luggage, it’s necessary to confirm the bed configuration and extra bed arrangements; also, 45 square meters does not guarantee comfort for all groups.
The new information shows that the positive review of the balcony greenery on September 24th was specifically from a Deluxe Twin Room with a balcony; while the review of the lounge dining benefits on July 22nd indicated that the guest who was unsure about their lounge access stayed in a Club Deluxe King Room with a balcony. If I simply want to sit and relax on the balcony, I will first confirm the Balcony name, rather than using the club name as a substitute; only if I plan to use the lounge will I check the breakfast details, time slots, and eligibility of my companions.
The photos of guests in rooms with balconies clearly showed two chairs and a small round table, which helped me understand why it was worth spending time in the room. There were also photos of deluxe king rooms without balconies, so I would still confirm the Balcony room by name. When comparing clubs, focus on the dining benefits you’ll use; don’t use the balcony view as a reason to upgrade to the lounge.

Three Breakfast Options: Remember the 15% Service Charge
Official breakfast pageThe Grand Kitchen buffet and Japanese breakfast were listed at ¥7,500 each including consumption tax, with an additional 15% service charge, on 23 October 2026. Service was listed from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m., starting at 6:00 a.m. on weekends and public holidays. The ¥8,625 adult price shown on Trip.com matches ¥7,500 plus 15%, so the apparent discrepancy comes from the pricing convention.
The official website lists in-room breakfast from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM, requiring reservations before midnight the previous night; and breakfast at the 19th-floor Club Lounge from 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM, limited to suite and club guests. A guest on July 22nd mentioned that the platform’s “breakfast not included” label prevented them from noticing the lounge’s dining options, reminding them to review the full benefits, as breakfast is not guaranteed for all room types. A positive breakfast review was received on October 11th, but the original sample size was insufficient to provide a detailed evaluation of each venue’s taste; the platform’s AI-generated “abundance” should not be taken as actual culinary evidence.
If I leave early, I’ll first ask if breakfast in the room is available; if I’m staying for an extended period, I’ll see if I’ll be eating a large breakfast every day. Dining out in Marunouchi is an alternative option, but I’ll need to check with each establishment about their morning opening hours.

There are still different expectations behind the high scores.
This review includes 10 original reviews published between March and October 2026; not all 333 reviews were marked as read. On July 12th, a guest felt the club room experience was below expectations, also expressing dissatisfaction with the price and availability at the time. This review only retains the “compare first” reminder and does not retain the transaction terms. The restaurant reservation difficulty on July 19th was also a single experience; if you want to dine there specifically, inquire in advance, and don’t assume that being a guest guarantees a reservation.
The platform claims to have no negative reviews, yet the AI lists breakfast and concierge suggestions, indicating a discrepancy between their perspectives. This article does not directly interpret the AI suggestions as original negative reviews with dates. For short stays, I prioritize views and breakfast arrangements; for extended stays, I place more emphasis on the actual use of club, cleaning, and laundry services. This approach resonates with those willing to slow down and enjoy the location; however, if you’re simply staying late to sleep, you should first consider how much of these facilities and views you will actually utilize.
