Ochanomizu Hotel Juraku: Awaji Slope, Station Access and Breakfast

Ochanomizu Hotel Juraku

Two minutes, but downhill

Ochanomizu Hotel Juraku works for travelers using the JR Chuo and Sobu lines who also want a substantial breakfast. The hotel’s route from JR Ochanomizu Hijiribashi Exit is about two minutes, passing Hijiribashi junction and descending Awaji Slope along the railway. The hotel also describes a roughly two-minute route from Shin-Ochanomizu B2 through Sola City and connecting passages. Neither advertised time establishes how easily a heavy suitcase moves on the slope in the rain.

Elevator route versus the shortest walk

Tokyo Metro confirms elevators from the Hijiribashi-side gates toward Exit B2 and Sola City, but the full connected accessible route through the complex to the hotel was not verified. The shortest slope route and the lift route should not be described as identical. Akihabara is another walking direction, but the hotel is not directly outside Akihabara Station. I would select an arrival route before leaving the platform when carrying large luggage.

Compact room layouts

The hotel’s room specifications are Single 13.5 m² with a 120 cm bed, Double 15.5 m² with a 140 cm bed, and Casual Twin 16.6 m² with two 110 cm beds. Women-only floor options also exist and should not be confused with standard room rates. An October 2026 solo guest said one small case was manageable but two large cases would be difficult. A family in September 2025 booked two Single rooms and could not change them to a Double at arrival; room arrangement, beds and child occupancy need confirmation before booking. Guest photographs show the desk near the bed and limited floor passage.

Akebi no Mi breakfast

The second-floor Akebi no Mi breakfast buffet runs 07:00–10:00 with last orders at 09:45. October 2026 reference prices were ¥1,600 for adult hotel guests, ¥1,000 for children aged four through elementary school, and free for those three and under. Official photographs show Japanese dishes, rice, soup curry, Western items and fruit; daily dishes may vary. Older comments from 2024 and January 2025 enjoyed the variety and soup curry, but they are not proof of the current daily menu. A departure before seven makes breakfast impractical.

What to expect on a longer stay

Ten original Trip guest comments from 2024–2026 were examined. Several describe small rooms; one July 2026 report about mosquitoes was a single comment without repeating evidence. Older comments disagreed about wallpaper and refurbishment, and the source lacked a current inspection. For one night and an early JR connection I would accept a compact room. For a longer stay or a family with large cases, I would confirm exact room category, laundry availability, housekeeping and the ability to eat without relying on an assumed room upgrade.
