N+HOTEL Akihabara No.2: Family Rooms, Station Access and Cleaning
N+HOTEL Akihabara No.2
For a family of four visiting Tokyo, the approximately 34 m² family suite is the room I would compare first. It has two single beds and two Japanese futon sets, offering a different layout from a standard double room. The trade-off is the walk from Akihabara Station: the Akihabara name does not mean the hotel is just outside the JR gates.

Confirm the right branch before booking
This page is about N+HOTEL Akihabara No.2 at 2-4-2 Higashikanda, Chiyoda-ku. The operator also lists this property as N+HOTEL Higashikanda. N+HOTEL Akihabara at 1-6-2 Taito, Taito-ku is a different branch; do not compare its 12 m² rooms with the Higashikanda rooms. Navigate using the full address.
- Advantages: a family suite that sleeps four; complimentary coffee and a microwave in the lounge; positive guest feedback about Chinese-language assistance and family stays.
- Trade-offs: the hotel is not at the JR station entrance; doubles and twins are far smaller than the family suite; a recent guest reported odor and cleaning issues in a standard room.

Getting there: walking times and accessible routes
Guest accounts estimate roughly 8–13 minutes from JR Akihabara Station, while a September 2026 traveler estimated around five minutes from Hibiya Line Akihabara Exit 4. The exact walk depends on the exit, traffic lights and pace. I would treat the hotel as walkable from Akihabara but allow walking time every day.
Travelers who need elevators can investigate Hibiya Line Akihabara Exit 3 or Toei Shinjuku Line Iwamotocho Exit A6. Both have street-level elevator information from the accessibility route guide. The walking time from either elevator to the hotel has not been verified, so the five-minute Exit 4 figure cannot be used for those routes. Check the ground-level route to the Higashikanda address before bringing large bags or a stroller. Sources: Sources 1

Choosing rooms: the family suite is not the standard room
| Room | Confirmed size and setup | When I would choose it |
|---|---|---|
| Double room | Official site: 16 m² and one double bed; Trip lists 15.4 m². | Two people traveling light who spend most of the day outdoors. |
| Twin room | Official site: 16 m² and two single beds; Trip lists 15 m². | Travelers who need separate beds but can keep luggage compact. |
| Family room / family suite | Official site: 34 m², two single beds plus two Japanese futon sets, maximum four; Trip lists 34.1 m². | Four people sharing one room who want a different sleeping arrangement. |
The small discrepancy between the official and Trip room sizes is retained rather than averaged. The bed section and futon area do not guarantee two separately enclosed bedrooms. An August 6, 2026 family guest reported room for a large suitcase and convenient bathroom zones but also noted light from the bathroom area; that describes their particular unit.
Guest photos dated August 6 and July 28 show the elevated bed area, lower futon area, washbasin and shower entrance in the family suite. For four travelers I would first ask whether everyone is comfortable sleeping on futons instead of assuming four conventional bed frames.
September 29 guest photos of a standard double show the TV at the foot of the bed, hanging space, a narrow walkway, and a bathroom with a long shower area, washbasin and toilet by the window. Those images help with layout, but they cannot rule out the odor and air-conditioning concerns mentioned in the same review.

Breakfast and longer stays: complimentary drinks are not a meal
Trip’s property policy says breakfast is not provided, as does a July 14, 2026 family review. I would plan to buy breakfast outside rather than book an assumed breakfast package. The lounge is listed as open 07:00–23:00 with coffee and a microwave, but a drinks station is not a full breakfast service.
For one or two nights, the four-person suite’s extra space and sleeping arrangement may be the main value. For longer stays, add the daily station walk and housekeeping schedule. The hotel website says to request towel replacements at reception; an August 6 review describes cleaning every two days. These statements describe different services, so ask about your actual stay.
The coffee machine, drink dispenser and lounge seating in the photographs show a place for a quick break. They should not be presented as a breakfast buffet. A family that wants a hot breakfast every morning should plan an outside meal.
Guest reviews: helpful family feedback alongside cleaning concerns
The source article examined ten individual Trip reviews posted from July to October 2026, not every property review. Comments repeatedly appreciate Chinese-language assistance, drinks and the family layout. Repeated mentions of the station walk support treating it as an everyday trade-off.
A detailed business-traveler report from September 29 describes a musty smell, carpet condition and air-conditioning airflow problems. It does not establish a property-wide defect, and there is no verified repair record. Travelers sensitive to odors should consider the report before choosing a compact room.
I would consider the hotel for Akihabara shopping and city sightseeing with four people in one room. For frequent travel with a stroller, very early starts or heavy luggage, a station-adjacent hotel might be easier. The deciding advantage here is the family suite, not the shortest possible train walk.
Short stays versus multiple nights
A July 16, 2026 standard-double guest described daily towel changes and rubbish removal but more thorough cleaning every two days, with a housekeeping notice. This is broadly consistent with the August family-suite account, but is still guest experience rather than a guarantee. Do not assume daily towel changes mean sheets are changed every day.
