Marunouchi Hotel Tokyo: Station Underground Access and Rail-Side Rooms
Marunouchi Hotel
One minute from the right part of Tokyo Station
Marunouchi Hotel is an excellent location for travelers using Tokyo Station and the Marunouchi/Oazo district, but its proximity is specific to the north side of the station. The hotel lists JR Marunouchi North Exit and Otemachi B2b at about one minute, and Marunouchi Line Tokyo North Gates at about two minutes, with underground connections. These are exit-to-building times, not distances from far-away train platforms such as the Keiyo Line. For a Shinkansen or early train I would save the correct boarding gate as well as the hotel entrance.
A practical lift route, not just stairs
The hotel’s own instructions describe an underground approach from Marunouchi Underground North Exit toward Oazo, then an entrance to the right after the escalator and a lift to the seventh-floor reception. There is also a surface route from Marunouchi North Exit with a ramp and B1 elevator access. This information is more useful with suitcases than a one-minute map pin. The exact platform lifts depend on the JR service and must still be checked separately; I would not mistake a station exit for the whole journey.
Railway-facing views versus quiet rooms
Trip showed Moderate Double around 25 m², Moderate King around 26 m², Corner Comfort around 36 m² and suites around 70 m², rounded platform descriptions rather than individually verified official measurements. The hotel’s own room information distinguishes Moderate Double/King facing the Tokyo Station railway scene from Moderate Twin and Deluxe King facing the office buildings, described as relatively quieter. A June 2026 nonsmoking Moderate King guest heard trains; another Moderate Double guest found the noise acceptable. Rail views are a choice, not a guarantee of silent nights or of larger floor space.
Breakfast needs a fresh confirmation
The original guest reports liked Western and Japanese breakfast on various dates, but the hotel’s official breakfast page returned a 403 error during the source check. Trip listed Western breakfast 06:30–10:00 and Japanese breakfast 07:00–10:00 with an indicative ¥4,500 price; those should not be presented as verified current official prices or times. I would confirm the service and menu before booking an early train morning. Staying next to Oazo and the station means outside dining is also an option, but each outlet’s hours differ.
Who benefits most from this location?
Ten Trip reviews dated June–October 2026 include both occasional train noise and travelers who liked watching the tracks. One person staying five nights in a larger corner Twin was satisfied; others found some Moderate rooms compact. The difference in room type and sensitivity explains why these impressions can coexist. If train watching matters, choose the rail-facing category and accept some sound. If sleep matters more, compare the reverse-facing rooms and request a quieter orientation, without treating it as a guarantee.
