Hotel New Otani Tokyo Garden Tower: Rooms, Garden and Breakfast Choices

Stay for the hotel experience, not just a bed

Hotel New Otani Tokyo Garden Tower appeals to travelers who want to enjoy the Japanese garden, dining and spacious rooms as part of the trip. It is one of several buildings in the New Otani complex, alongside The Main and Executive House Zen. Booking Garden Tower does not automatically provide a room in the Main or the privileges of Zen. The benefit is space and variety; the trade-off is finding the right lobby, lifts and restaurants within a large property.

Station approach and finding the Garden Tower

The hotel lists around three minutes on foot from Akasaka-mitsuke Station’s Kioicho D exit or Nagatacho Exit 7. Nagatacho has many stairs, and the property advises travelers with wheelchairs or strollers to approach from Akasaka-mitsuke. Neither estimate includes the internal walk to the Garden Tower reception and lift, and the exact accessible exit-to-desk route was not checked. An October 2026 guest reported needing to change elevators, and another guest found the lobby difficult to locate at night. I would save the specific Garden Tower entrance before arriving.

Compare only Garden Tower room types

The official Standard Double or Twin is 27.3 m²; Standard Triple is 39.7 m²; Deluxe Double, Twin and Triple range from 50.2 to 60.9 m²; Standard Connecting is 54.6 m². A Triple category needs confirmation of its actual third bed, and a connecting arrangement should be reserved as the correct pair rather than two unrelated rooms. Bed widths and luggage-floor clearance vary and were not fully verified. Trip lists check-in from 15:00 and check-out at 12:00. Some guest photos of Standard Twin rooms show the narrower passage near the entrance despite the 27.3 m² headline figure.

Breakfast restaurants and package rights

Breakfast is not one interchangeable dining room. As of October 2026 Garden Lounge and the 40th-floor Tower Restaurant listed 06:30–10:00, each with an adult buffet reference price of ¥6,000 plus service charge; SATSUKI in the Main listed 07:00–10:00 at ¥8,500 plus service charge. Those are normal restaurant prices, not proof that a breakfast-inclusive room can use all venues without paying a supplement. A June 2026 guest liked SATSUKI after paying extra, while another thought the breakfast was merely average. A lunch buffet complaint should not be counted as a breakfast complaint.

Guest reports and when to stay longer

The saved source reviewed ten Trip posts from April–October 2026. Guests mention the garden, larger rooms and varied dining, alongside a recurring need to navigate the complex. One June account from a Connecting Twin described weak air-conditioning; there is no verified repair record and it should not be generalized to every room. A one-night stay arriving late and leaving early may not make enough use of the garden. Two or more nights with a quieter itinerary offer more time to enjoy the hotel. Families should confirm adjoining rooms and bed configuration, while anyone needing easy elevator access should request the route to the Garden Tower, not the complex in general.
