Grand Central Hotel Tokyo Kanda: Room Types, Breakfast and Older Facilities
A Kanda base rather than a grand luxury hotel
Grand Central Hotel is a practical choice around Kanda for travelers who want to move toward Tokyo Station or Akihabara, but the name should not create expectations of large new rooms. The hotel gives a general three-minute walk from Kanda Station without a specific exit in the available official text; some guests experienced five to ten minutes. The correct station lift and street route are not fully verified. I would use this hotel as a simple sleeping base and spend evenings around Kanda’s restaurants and shops.
Room types and bed sizes
Trip showed singles, compact doubles and Twin A/B choices. The Small Double lists a 120 × 195 cm bed, a narrow bed for two adults who prefer extra sleeping space. Twin A is listed at 16 m² and a smoking option, but this does not define every Twin A booking or guarantee floor room for two fully opened suitcases. Nonsmoking and smoking rate types need careful selection. An April 2026 guest could open luggage but felt the bathroom was small and the power sockets inconvenient. I would check desk outlets and bring a suitable short extension lead only if permitted.
PRONTO breakfast as a set meal
The linked official PRONTO breakfast arrangement runs 06:45–10:00, with last orders at 09:30. Six Japanese-and-Western set types rotate, with one Japanese and one Western selection offered on a particular day. This is not a large buffet. The individual breakfast purchase price was not reliably confirmed. One June 2026 guest liked the attached coffee bar and a May Twin A visitor described the Japanese-or-Western set arrangement. I would compare the included-breakfast rate only after checking whether a set meal suits the morning itinerary.
Cleaning and the age of equipment
Ten original Trip reviews dated April 22 to October 17, 2026 were considered. In an October nonsmoking Twin B a guest saw bathroom stains that staff reportedly handled promptly, though the fittings still seemed dated. An August smoking double guest described a musty smell that lessened after air-conditioning. By contrast, a July nonsmoking Twin A guest found the room clean without odor. These are different room categories and dates, not proof of a recurring problem in one type. Staff interactions likewise received both favorable and unfavorable individual comments.
Who would stay here for several nights?
For a solo overnight stay focused on transport, the station location and basic amenities may outweigh dated fittings. Two people sharing a Small Double should consider the 120 cm bed width, while travelers with luggage should look at the specific Twin layout and bathroom. Laundry service is listed but not a washing machine in each room; collection hours and pricing require confirmation. For remote work or a longer stay, I would check outlets, room cleaning and the actual nonsmoking category before booking rather than rely on an overall score.
