Comfort Hotel ERA Tokyo Higashi Kanda: Breakfast, Library Café and Room Sizes
Comfort Hotel ERA Tokyo Higashi Kanda
Comfort Hotel ERA Tokyo Higashi Kanda is a practical option if you do not mind walking from the station and want a hotel with breakfast and a shared lounge. The room types range from 15 to 22 m², but the similarly named Queen Economy options are not the same size. I would compare the actual exit for my train line, the bed arrangement and whether the breakfast and Library Café will fit my schedule.

Why choose it, and what are its daily costs?
- The room types can be clearly compared by area and number of beds.Twin 2, ranging from 15㎡ for two people to 22㎡ for three beds, is suitable for choosing based on the number of people traveling together.
- Breakfast includes salad, bread, and a variety of daily dishes. The official breakfast page can verify the contents and costs; one should not rely on old brand impressions to assume that breakfast is free.
- There are definitely guests in the public spaces. The original comment mentioned the convenience of coffee and rest areas, but the service times for snacks and desserts were not confirmed item by item, which is an inappropriate promise of all-day availability.
- Walking to the station and waiting for laundry should be included. Some passengers felt the location was good, while others felt it was a bit far; not every exit is only 4 minutes away.
Four minutes from Exit 2 of Bakurocho does not mean the same for Higashi-Nihonbashi.
| route | Official Information | Luggage reminder |
|---|---|---|
| JR Bakucho | Exit 2, about a 4-minute walk | Exit time, underground platform and passageway time are calculated separately. |
| Ma Shi Yokoyama | Take the underpass to JR Bakurocho Exit 2, then it’s about 4 minutes. | The underground transfer time between the two stations is not omitted. |
| Higashi-Nihonbashi | Exit B4, about a 9-minute walk | Unlike the Bakuro-cho route, the 4-minute interval cannot be reported together. |
| elevator exit | This time, a complete comparison of the transportation operators’ arrival at the venue was not completed. | Exit name, ground distance, time, and elevation difference are to be confirmed. |
according toOfficial transportation pageVerification date: October 23, 2026. Passengers with large suitcases or trolleys should first find the elevator according to their actual route, and then check the ground floor for directions; a large number of routes does not mean that every exit is luggage-friendly.
Akihabara is walkable for shopping, with original reviews repeatedly mentioning a 10-minute walk; this is a personal observation, not a precise store-to-store route. The original reviews also mentioned nearby convenience stores and restaurants. Some travelers mentioned the bus stops near their hotels, but we didn’t verify the bus stop information or current schedules, so we don’t rely on them to guarantee direct access to any particular attraction. If your itinerary is mainly in eastern Tokyo, you can compare transportation options based on your daily destinations; for trips to the west, you should also check transfer options one by one.

Queen Economy 2 is smaller; only Twin 2 has a three-bed configuration.
| Official room type | area | Bed specifications |
|---|---|---|
| Double Standard | 15㎡ | 140cm wide bed |
| Queen Economy 1 | 18㎡ | 164cm wide 1 bed |
| Queen Economy 2 | 15㎡ | One bed, 164cm wide, with optional mattress. |
| Twin Standard 1 | 20㎡ | 123cm wide 2 beds |
| Twin Standard 2 | 22㎡ | Maximum 123cm² bed + 102cm¹ bed |
DigitalOfficial Guest PageVerification date: October 23, 2026. Do not translate “King Bed” on the platform directly as 180 or 200cm; nor should the “2” in the name be used to represent an upgrade in area. For three people staying together, the category that allows a third bed must be selected and confirmed at the time of booking; adding a third person to a Twin 1 room at the last minute is not permitted.
The newly added original data shows that guests who can bring two large suitcases on October 20, 2026, will be assigned to a standard twin room (room 2), and will not be able to book a 15㎡ room. If two of us are staying together with our suitcases, we will first look at the 18㎡ Queen Room 1 or the 20/22㎡ Twin Room configuration; increasing the number of beds will take up floor space, so area is not the only factor to consider. Trip schedules are 3:00 PM check-in and 10:00 AM check-out; luggage storage, cleaning frequency, and laundry status will be handled separately, and no single guest is guaranteed daily cleaning service.
On October 20, 2026, the newly added room type with “two large suitcases that can be laid flat” is Standard Twin Room 2, which cannot be used for the 15㎡ Economy King Room 2; on May 24, guests with comfortable common areas but insufficient washing machines are in Economy King Room 1. I will first compare the area of the official Queen 1, Queen 2 and Twin 2 with the platform name, and then put these photos and feelings in the corresponding room type.
The photos of Standard Twin Room 2 show a long table next to the bed and the floor by the window, while Economy King Room 1 has a single bed, a desk, and a refrigerator all on one side. The actual photos of Economy King Room 2 also show a narrow passageway from the entrance to the window. If I were bringing two large suitcases, I would compare these photos with the room names and sizes, and not apply the positive reviews about Twin Room 2’s suitcase capacity to the 15㎡ Queen Room 2.

ERA breakfast is now chargeable; child prices are subject to official terms.
The current official website lists breakfast from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Comfort Library Cafe on the 1st floor; the price is 1,800 yen for adults, 950 yen for elementary school students sharing a bed with an adult, and free for preschool children. Verification date: October 23, 2026. Trip lists 4-12 year olds as 900 yen, which differs in age definition and price. This article uses the official terms and reminds users to check before booking; it is not intended to suggest that all children under 12 years old pay the same price.Official breakfast
The official website lists salads and fruits, open sandwiches, muffins, drinks, and some daily hot dishes; this is a selection, and there is no guarantee that every item will be available on any given day. Original comments on October 11, 2026, and September 29, 2026, affirmed the meals, while comments on September 19, 2026, mentioned eating the same dishes for over ten days and finding the repetitive and monotonous. This supports different experiences of the same breakfast between short-term and long-term stays, and does not necessarily mean that the breakfast has remained unchanged daily or has improved.
If I’m staying two nights and don’t need to catch the first bus in the morning, I’ll compare the price difference between including breakfast and paying separately; if I’m staying for more than ten days, I’ll keep some meals outside. If I need to leave before 6:30 or just want to have coffee, I don’t need to choose the option with breakfast included every day just because of the brand’s image.
The guest who felt the breakfast was repetitive after eating it for more than ten days on September 19th, and the guest who definitely wanted a Japanese-Western combination on October 11th, were both marked as having an economy king room 2; the difference was in the pace of their stay and their personal preferences. I would recommend breakfast included for short stays of two nights, and allow for eating out a few days if staying for more than ten days. You can’t assume that a single positive review is suitable for every day.
The multi-day traveler’s meal tray shows the actual egg dishes, vegetables, bread, soup, juice, and side dishes, and features different angles of the buffet and bread area. This supports the idea that breakfast can be a complete meal, but it doesn’t prove that the dishes will be drastically different every day; the repetitive feeling of eating the same thing for more than ten days in September still needs to be maintained. I would prefer breakfast included for short stays, and arrange for some meals outside the home for longer stays, depending on when I go out each day.

Original reviews should be categorized by location, device, and service.
This review included 10 comments posted between May 19th and October 20th, 2026, out of a total of 887 comments on the platform. Many newly added room types were retained and interpreted based on their actual configurations. A comment from September 19th described a consecutive stay of “ten days,” while most others did not specify the number of nights and were not categorized. Comments from June 13th and September 19th indicated the walk to the station was slightly further, while comments from October 20th and others affirmed the importance of transportation; these discrepancies should be explained based on actual routes.
On May 24th, there was a complaint about insufficient washing machines; on May 28th, another complaint about inadequate light blocking from the curtains; and on September 19th, a complaint about poor service. These three complaints, not related to the same issue, recurred repeatedly without any evidence of improvement. Numerous comments repeatedly stating “very good” lack specific details and cannot be used to address the missing facilities. The Trip AI summary is listed separately and is not included in this additional read review.
Choices between short stays, extended stays, and families
For one or two people staying for a short period, having breakfast and using the rest area at the hotel is straightforward; for extended stays, it’s more important to inquire about the washing machine availability, breakfast schedule, and cleaning services. For families of three, the options start with twin-bed accommodations and children’s meal fees, and travelers with strollers also need to consider elevator directions; one cannot draw conclusions solely based on room size.
I will choose a suitable room type and then assess the distance I am willing to walk each day; if the itinerary requires frequent returns to the room or carrying a large amount of loot every night, the weight of walking outside the station should be increased.
