APA Hotel Kanda Ekihigashi: 11–23 m² Rooms and a Seven-Minute Walk
Not immediately outside Kanda Station
APA Hotel Kanda Ekihigashi is a small-room business hotel at 2-1-1 Iwamotocho, Chiyoda-ku. Although ‘station east’ is in its name, the official route takes about seven minutes on foot from JR Kanda East Exit: roughly three minutes to Imagawabashi intersection and another four after turning left. The hotel lists a luggage-storage service, but carrying large cases in rain is still less convenient than a station-front property.
Elevators and getting there
The official walk begins after leaving the JR station, and the platform-to-elevator route was not fully checked. Anyone needing step-free travel should use the current JR station map and allow time for crossings and the walk. The hotel is a useful base for Kanda and Iwamotocho business, but visitors concentrating on Akihabara shopping should also compare the walking distance to their specific stores.
Room dimensions matter
The official Single is 11 m² with one 120 cm bed; Double is 11 m² with one 140 cm bed; Deluxe Twin is 23 m² with two 120 cm beds. Two people moving from Single to Double gain bed width, not floor space. Guestroom pictures show a desk close to the double bed, while the twin has separate beds and window-side seating. The platform’s room cards lacked full area data, so these numbers come from the hotel’s specifications. The bathroom and under-bed suitcase clearance were not measured.
WHIZ CAFE breakfast
The hotel lists a breakfast set at WHIZ CAFE, from 07:00 to 10:00 with last entry 09:30. October 2026 adult prices were ¥1,500 prepaid and ¥1,700 on arrival, including tax and service. The official meal images show rice, curry and vegetables, but they do not guarantee the same plate every day. The three available Trip reviews had no detailed comments about breakfast taste. For a departure before seven, breakfast would not fit my plans.
What three reviews can and cannot show
The platform showed only three reviews, dated April and September 2025 and September 2026, with one September review saying it was a longer walk from Kanda than expected. The latest nonsmoking Single guest praised cleanliness, but this does not establish the condition of every room or how comfortable a Double is for two people. I would favor this hotel for a solo work trip that tolerates a seven-minute walk, and compare the 23 m² Twin for two guests staying more than one night.
