APA Hotel Akihabara Suehirocho Ekimae: Compact Rooms, Station Exits and Breakfast

APA Hotel Akihabara Suehirocho Ekimae

If I planned to spend most of my trip shopping in Akihabara with only one suitcase, APA Hotel Akihabara Suehirocho Ekimae would be a practical candidate. Two adults with large suitcases should compare the larger twin room. Its Sotokanda location is convenient, but standard rooms are only 11 m² regardless of whether one or two people stay.

  • Advantage: about one minute on foot from Suehirocho Station Exits 1 or 3, and four minutes from JR Akihabara Electric Town Exit, according to the hotel.
  • Advantage: the 22.3 m² Deluxe Twin is about twice the size of a standard room, providing a meaningful alternative.
  • Trade-off: reviews mention cramped rooms and dust more than once; one longer-stay guest also described a poor breakfast experience.

Plan your luggage route before choosing a station exit

The hotel estimates around one minute from Suehirocho Exit 1 or 3 and around four minutes from JR Akihabara Electric Town Exit. Those times begin outside the station, not on the train platform.

Tokyo Metro lists a lift between the Platform 1 gates and Exit 2, and another at a dedicated elevator exit from the Platform 2 gates. The closest Exits 1 and 3 are not therefore necessarily accessible by elevator. Street-level walking time and crossings from those lifts to the hotel were not verified; allow extra time with heavy luggage or a stroller. Source 1 Source 2

Address: 3-15-7 Sotokanda, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. The location lends itself to a day combining Akihabara Electric Town and Kanda Myojin. Travelers praise nearby places to eat, but restaurant hours have not been checked individually.

Two guests should compare the actual room specifications

Hotel room typeArea and bedHow I would choose
Standard, single occupancy11 m², one 140 cm-wide bedMore manageable for one light traveler.
Standard, double occupancy11 m², one 140 cm-wide bedThe same floor area, now shared by two people’s belongings.
Deluxe Twin22.3 m², two 120 cm-wide bedsBetter to compare for separate beds or more room to move.

Official room data was checked October 23, 2026. A solo traveler reported fitting a suitcase beneath the bed, while a two-person traveler said there was too little room to open theirs. Both can be true: a stored bag is not an opened bag. The under-bed clearance and maximum suitcase dimensions are not known.

The hotel lists coin-operated laundry, a microwave and an ice machine. These are helpful on longer stays, although washer numbers, busy times and the current housekeeping schedule require confirmation.

Photos of compact double rooms show the desk close to the bed and wall, while twin-room images include a small window-side table and chair. Use them to compare furniture arrangements, but check the booked area rather than guessing from wide-angle photos.

Breakfast offers ochazuke, but there is no need to prebook it every morning

BEEF KITCHEN STAND provides a Japanese and Western breakfast buffet from 07:00 to 10:00, with last orders at 09:30. Reference prices published on October 23, 2026 were JPY 1,800 in advance or JPY 2,000 at the hotel. Options include build-your-own ochazuke rice and noodles. Whether breakfast is included depends on the booking rate.

One business guest who stayed four nights in April 2026 disliked the food preparation, dining area and repetition, and ate breakfast there only twice. This is a specific report, not a survey of every guest. I would keep some mornings free to eat in Akihabara instead of adding every buffet in advance.

Breakfast pictures show the ochazuke and toppings, and a dining room with closely spaced seats. Photos cannot establish waiting times or how quickly dishes are replenished. Try one morning before committing to a longer series of breakfasts.

How to read reviews for a one-night versus a four-night stay

Different guests mention small rooms, although a March 21, 2026 solo guest found the room roomy enough. Dust was mentioned in June 2025 and April 2026; a guest also reported personal allergy discomfort. Another October 15 guest praised cleanliness. These differing individual reports cannot prove either a universal problem or a verified fix.

If I were staying one night and using the room mainly for sleep, 11 m² might be enough. Longer visits with daily shopping should factor in suitcases, laundry and the two travelers’ schedules. I would confirm nonsmoking status, bed width and room area before adding breakfast. Travelers who need a step-free route should investigate the path from the accessible station exit to the front door.
