TOKYO/CHIYODA

Aman Tokyo: Suite Views, Breakfast, Spa and Room Orientation

Aman Tokyo

I would consider Aman Tokyo as part of my Tokyo trip, not just a place to sleep at night. If you’re looking to trade a leisurely afternoon or two for high-floor space, a relaxing bath, and a view, it’s worth comparing; however, if you’re out in the morning and back late at night, much of the value of the accommodation is hard to realize.

Aman Tokyo is located in Otemachi Tower, 1-5-6 Otemachi, Tokyo.

The advantages I would value, and the limitations of having high expectations.

  • Advantages: The official website currently lists suites starting from 71㎡, which is significantly larger than typical business hotels in the city center; room types are differentiated by orientation and view, and you can choose according to your time in the room; the official website currently states that the accommodation includes daily breakfast.
  • Limitations: If you only buy the name "Aman" without confirming the orientation and room type, there may be a gap between expectations and reality; original reviews were not consistently amazing about the breakfast and the view; there have been recent cases of odor issues, so you cannot rule out risks based solely on the brand.

Current room types and breakfast inclusion details are based on the official accommodation page, verified on 2026-10-23. The platform’s terminology and naming conventions are not entirely synchronized with the official website; the room type and benefits you actually see at the time of booking shall prevail. Source 1

Apartment type comparison: 71㎡ does not represent the same view

Official current room typesDifferences in area/direction, etc. What would I choose?
Official current room type: Deluxe SuiteDifferences in area/orientation, etc.: 71㎡, facing westHow would I choose? If I’ll be staying in my room in the evening, I could compare the direction of the sunset.
Official current room type: Garden View SuiteDifferences in area/orientation, etc.: 71㎡, highest floor 38, garden view orientation. My choice would prioritize specific views and floor levels, first verifying the view conditions.
Official current room type Tokyo SuiteDifferences in area/orientation, etc.: 77㎡, facing eastI would choose based on my preference for city orientation and different times of daylight.
Official current room type: City SuiteDifferences in area/orientation, etc.: 121㎡, facing northeastI would choose based on the size of the room, only comparing larger areas if I need more in-room activities.
Official current room type: Panorama SuiteDifferences in area/orientation, corner location, maximum approximately 139㎡I would choose someone who prioritizes multifaceted views as a core requirement.

Trip currently still offers 71㎡ twin/king-size rooms and 121–139㎡ suites. Don’t rely solely on the Chinese word "luxury" to match the new room names on the official website. I will check the area, bed type, orientation, and floor plan one by one, and then compare the upgrade price difference; a higher price does not necessarily mean you will prefer better lighting.

The original comment on August 3, 2026 mentioned that the area facing the Imperial Palace gets hot during the day and the view after moving was not as good as expected. This is one person’s personal experience and does not mean that west-facing houses are necessarily bad, but it does remind people who are afraid of heat or light to first confirm their needs for shading and air conditioning.

On March 7, 2026, guests who opted for the newly added Deluxe King Suite praised the floor-to-ceiling windows facing the Imperial Palace, noting the excellent views on clear days. However, guests who opted for the Tokyo Suite on August 3rd expressed disappointment with the view and sunlight after the room upgrade. If the view were the primary reason for their upgrade, they would directly request a different orientation and better shade, confirming what the booked room type offered. Differences caused by weather and personal expectations cannot be eliminated by simply upgrading the room name.

These are multi-angle photos taken by Tokyo Suite guests on June 21, 2026, connecting the entrance hall, tiered lounge area, double vanities, and window-side bathtub; the Deluxe King Suite has another configuration with the foot of the bed facing the window. I will first compare these routes using the full room name, especially considering the need to get up at night and the need for two people to wash up at the same time, rather than assuming that a photo with a wide window view is the same for all suites.

Otemachi Transportation: Although the station names are the same, the underground distances may differ.

Generally, the destination is Otemachi Tower and the hotel entrance. Otemachi is a major station where multiple lines converge; the underground distance from the platform to the hotel varies depending on the line, so it cannot be simplified to a one-minute walk from any exit. Official arrival information can be used as a starting point for address and transportation planning, but we were unable to obtain verifiable walking times from the general designated exits for this trip. The elevator exits and the complete stepless access route to the hotel have not yet been verified. I cannot guarantee that I can easily reach the hotel with a stroller or wheelchair simply because the building is connected to the subway. If this will determine whether to check in, the hotel should first confirm the arrival route and luggage needs with the hotel to confirm the entrance and elevator arrangements.

For my itinerary, I would combine city walks around Marunouchi, Otemachi, and the Imperial Palace with time spent inside the museum; if I were to travel to different parts of Tokyo every day, it would be difficult to fully appreciate the benefits of this location and the services offered inside the museum.

Breakfast doesn’t need to be pre-arranged as an extra charge, and don’t apply official website benefits to all platforms.

The official website now lists daily breakfast as an included item on the accommodation page; therefore, it’s not accurate to simply say "breakfast must be purchased separately" as in previous articles. However, you should still carefully review each Trip plan’s benefits, especially if the room selection page states that breakfast is not included, don’t assume your booking includes it just by looking at the website overview.

Since we couldn’t obtain a reliable list of general breakfast prices and the complete current serving schedule, we cannot provide a price estimate. My approach is to first confirm the number of people included in the reservation, the number of times per day, and the dining location; if breakfast is definitely not included, then obtain the list of optional add-ons and prices from the hotel. For mornings with early buses, also inquire about any available breakfast options, rather than just focusing on whether breakfast is included.

Trip’s original reviews are divided on breakfast: June 24, 2026, received a positive review praising it as exquisite and delicious; August 3 and August 22 reviews were just average, with the latter also mentioning the cumbersome ordering process. These two recent, weaker reviews are worth considering, but cannot be used to conclude that the overall food quality has declined.

On August 22, 2026, the breakfast table for guests in the Deluxe King Suite featured both pancakes and Japanese-style dishes; however, the same description suggested the food was mediocre and ordering additional items was troublesome. For me, photos help to understand the dining style, but taste remains subjective; if breakfast were the main reason for my stay, I would first ask about the ordering process and what was included, rather than using the beautiful presentation to offset the actual negative example.

How many nights should I stay? First, decide if you really want to allow time to rest.

A short stay of one night can be arranged as an anniversary or a rest day in the trip, provided that you don’t fill both check-in and check-out days; staying for two consecutive nights can reduce the amount of luggage you have to carry and allow you to experience the room at different times, but this is just an editor’s suggestion and not a proven fact that staying for two consecutive nights is definitely more cost-effective.

This review consisted of 10 original Trip reviews published between March and October 2026. New data identifies the Deluxe King Suite, Deluxe Twin Suite, and Tokyo Suite; several positive feedback items were received regarding service and space. On August 22, 2026, a Deluxe King Suite guest detailed a damp wood odor, requiring an air purifier and spray treatment, which improved the situation the following day, and commended the hotel for its remedial measures. Currently, only one identifiable case exists; it is not determined whether the odor is a hotel-wide issue, nor is it claimed to have been permanently fixed.

I would recommend this to travelers who are willing to budget for time in the room, the view, and the service; if your priorities are the station, a night’s sleep, and a good breakfast, then finding accommodation that better suits your needs will likely reduce the disappointment.

For those who are sensitive to smells, please make your request before booking and check the room condition upon check-in; if there is any odor, I will report it on the spot and confirm the solution.
