How to Stay Here

  • Apartments of 26–31㎡, with bed setups that vary by room number.
  • Guests praise the kitchen, laundry and bathroom drying facilities.
  • A convenience store and Funairimachi transport are handy, and Peace Memorial Park is about 680 m away.

How Would I Choose?

Travelling with children or friends, I would consider this place for its kitchen and laundry living space. Bed setups differ by room number — double beds, sofa beds and Japanese bedding come in different combinations — and anyone sensitive to noise should consider street-facing rooms and noise from upstairs together.

Origamiinn suits travellers happy with self check-in who want to use the kitchen and laundry to organise life on the road. A one-room apartment of around 26–31㎡ gives families with children useful living space and flexibility for preparing simple meals. My first step is to sort out beds by room number. Rooms 301, 302 and 303 have different bed setups, and once a sofa bed or Japanese bedding is laid out, it also takes up daytime living space; whether fellow travellers accept sharing a bed matters more for the choice than the maximum occupancy.

Same One Room, but Bed Setups and Sizes Differ in Practice

Room 301 has 30.7㎡, two double beds and two sofa beds; 302 is 27㎡ with two double beds and one sofa bed; 303 is 26.3㎡ with one double bed and two sets of Japanese futon bedding. Travellers who want their own bed and those happy with floor bedding will suit different room numbers. People who stayed in 301 and 701 in 2026 liked the bathroom drying, laundry and kitchen facilities; families with babies also found preparing formula and baby food convenient. I would look at these living facilities together with my own room number. Good reviews of the facilities in 301 and 701 cannot be extended directly to the same setup in every room number. Guests like the laundry and bathroom drying, but how long hot-air drying takes depends on the amount of laundry; I would wash children’s clothes and thick coats in batches rather than promising, on the basis of someone else’s three-to-four-hour experience, that everything will definitely be dry by the next morning. Guests mention that the IH hob, tableware, dish soap and sponges are available, and remind you to bring your own seasonings. For anyone who will cook in the apartment, this equipment is more useful than simply a little more space.

Kawaramachi Base, About 680 m from Peace Memorial Park

ORIGAMINN 13-14, Naka Ward, 730-0856 Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan

The address is 13-14 Kawaramachi, with Funairimachi tram stop as the arrival point. Guests mention a 7-Eleven downstairs, handy for drinks and daily essentials. The walking route to Peace Memorial Park is about 680 m, and the museum about 1 km; HBG Hall is about 390 m away, so a performance can be combined with sightseeing in the city centre. Hondori Station is about 1.6 km away, about 22 minutes, so I would make shopping in the arcade a trip in itself and then arrange transport back.

How Late You Need Laundry, and Noise Light Sleepers Should Note

Guests praise the cleanliness, facilities and self-service code entry; some guests in 2025 mentioned noise from neighbouring rooms and upstairs, and a guest in room 701 in 2026 found the street-facing side a little noisy. Anyone sensitive to noise should ask about room position first; there are also isolated reports of weak shower pressure. For a one-night stay, save the room number, door code and contact details first; for a longer stay, plan who does laundry when, how towels are changed, and whether the sofa bed is folded away during the day. Once these routines run smoothly, the apartment’s kitchen and living space are worth more than an ordinary hotel room.

How I Would Choose

If I am happy with self check-in and will use the kitchen and laundry on a longer stay, Origamiinn is more attractive than for a simple overnight stay. First allocate double beds, sofa beds or floor bedding by room number — 301, 302, 303 and so on — then consider the number of people; light sleepers should also factor in the neighbouring-room, upstairs and road noise mentioned by guests in rooms 301 and 701.

Pros and Trade-offs to Accept

  • Apartments of 26–31㎡, with bed setups that vary by room number.
  • Guests praise the kitchen, laundry and bathroom drying facilities.
  • A convenience store and Funairimachi transport are handy, and Peace Memorial Park is about 680 m away.

Think Through Before Booking

  • Groups need to use shared beds, sofa beds or Japanese bedding.
  • Guests on different dates mentioned noise from neighbouring rooms, upstairs or the road.
  • Self check-in requires getting the door code and support contact details in advance.
