Mercure Tokyu Stay Hiroshima: In-Room Washer-Dryer, Bread Breakfast and 16–29㎡ Room Choice
Mercure Tokyu Stay Hiroshima (Opening May 2026)

How to Stay Here
- Every room has a washer-dryer and microwave, handy for longer stays.
- Opened in 2026; guests like the new facilities and beds.
- Near the Hatchobori shopping area, with drinks and snacks in the lounge.
How Would I Choose?
When a longer stay means dreading waiting for laundry, I would put this hotel, opened in 2026, on the shortlist. A washer-dryer and microwave in every room are very practical, and breakfast suits people who like bread and coffee.
Mercure Tokyu Stay Hiroshima opened in May 2026, with a washer-dryer and microwave in every room. If you want to pack fewer clothes and sort out tomorrow’s outfit back in the room at night, I would compare it seriously; for just one night without using laundry, put location and room size first instead.
Room Types, Space and Comparison: 16㎡ Standard Room, with Larger Twin Options
Standard double 16㎡, comfort double 19㎡, superior double 20㎡, twin rooms from 24㎡, and deluxe twin 29㎡ with a sofa bed. If you want a bed each, bring two large suitcases, or need a sofa bed, I would choose by these actual differences, not apply the hotel-wide average size to a standard room.
Bathrooms also differ between bathtub and shower-only setups; guests in standard rooms mention a shower room only, so if you like a bath, first pick a room type that clearly includes a bathtub. The washer-dryer and microwave are a whole-hotel advantage, but that does not mean every room has a full cooking kitchen kit.
The experience of a guest in a deluxe family room in October 2026 who could spread out three large suitcases cannot be applied to a 16㎡ standard double. An in-room washer-dryer saves queuing for shared laundry, but machine running time still needs to be left in the evening schedule; a microwave is handy for heating, but does not mean every room comes with a stove and pots for cooking.
| Room Type | Area | Key Point |
|---|---|---|
| Standard double | 16㎡ | Compact stay, shower setup |
| Comfort / superior double | 19 / 20㎡ | More room to move |
| Superior twin | 24㎡ | For separate beds |
| Deluxe twin | 29㎡ | Twin beds plus sofa bed |

This Breakfast Suits You Only If You Like Bread and Coffee
The first-floor Hiroshima Craft Bread & Coffee serves 6:30–10:00, with last orders at 9:30, featuring ALoFT collaboration bread and MOUNT COFFEE coffee, plus salad, fruit and nuts. Some guests like the bread variety, while others find breakfast rather simple and not worth adding at a high price difference. (Daily hours and reference fees checked: 22 October 2026; on site, the hotel’s notices prevail.)
Adult breakfast is referenced at 2,200 yen. My way of choosing is to look at how I normally eat: if you like slowly picking bread to go with coffee, you can compare breakfast-included plans; if you expect plenty of hot dishes and a different Japanese menu every day, eating out may suit you better.

Teppocho 8-19 — Hatchobori Shopping and Shukkeien in Separate Parts of the Day
8-19 Teppocho, Naka Ward, 730-0017 Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan
Getting off at Hatchobori tram stop, guests mention about 3 to 5 minutes to the hotel. The address is Teppocho 8-19, and in a taxi I would show the address directly, as some guests have met drivers unfamiliar with the new hotel’s location.
In the daytime you can start with Hatchobori department stores, Hondori and Shintenchi dining, with Shukkeien as a separate part of the day. If you want to see Peace Memorial Park and the museum, leave another half day for them; there is no need to cram each day just to return to the hotel for laundry.
Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki can be arranged separately at Shintenchi Okonomimura, joined with Hondori and PARCO shopping. If you spend mornings and evenings around Hatchobori every day, this arrangement also means you do not need to keep travelling back to the JR station for a meal.

Don’t Forget the Cleaning Sign — and Leave Time for the Lounge
Guests like the new facilities, comfortable sleep and the lounge’s shared drinks and snacks. Having somewhere to sit when back at the hotel is a detail I find attractive for a longer stay; the lounge’s food and drink have a scope of use, so enjoy them as arranged on site.
For housekeeping, first check the cleaning method: guests remind you to hang the cleaning instruction sign in the morning, and limited cleaning is not the same as a full room tidy. On a longer stay, ask about detergent, amenity and towel top-ups, so these facilities really do reduce the burden of travel.

How I Would Choose
If I stay several nights and want to pack fewer clothes, I would first look at the in-room washer-dryer and microwave, then choose a bed type for a 16 to 29㎡ need. The standard room’s shower and the deluxe twin’s sofa bed each have their uses — do not generalise; consider a breakfast-included plan only if you like bread and coffee for breakfast, and leave eating out for anyone expecting plenty of hot dishes. Cleaning instructions and amenity top-ups still need to follow the check-in instructions.

Pros and Trade-offs to Accept
Pros I Value
- Every room has a washer-dryer and microwave, handy for longer stays.
- Opened in 2026; guests like the new facilities and beds.
- Near the Hatchobori shopping area, with drinks and snacks in the lounge.
- Room types of 16 to 29㎡ and above can be picked by space need.
Think Through Before Booking
- The 16㎡ standard room is still compact, and its shower setup needs attention.
- Breakfast leans towards bread and coffee, and may not meet hot-food needs.
- Cleaning follows a set method; on longer stays, watch for the instruction sign.
- Drivers are occasionally unfamiliar with the new hotel’s address.
