Lafort Honkawa Apartment | 55 and 65 sqm, Two- to Three-Bedroom Layouts and Shared Beds — How to Choose
Lafort Honkawa

How this place suits a stay
- Peace Memorial Park about 490 m away, the Atomic Bomb Dome about 540 m away.
- 55 and 65 sqm, two- to three-bedroom layouts to choose by group.
- It has a lift, door-code entry and kitchen living equipment.
How would I choose?
What attracts me about Lafort Honkawa Apartment (Lafort Honkawa) is its Honkawacho location and its two sizes, 55 and 65 sqm. It suits companions willing to share beds and the living room; the difference between two and three bedrooms should be weighed together with how acceptable bunk beds and a sofa bed are.
Two and three bedrooms, with different bedding forms too
The 55 sqm city apartment has two bedrooms, listing one large bed and two double beds, with a sofa bed in the living room as well. The 65 sqm family apartment lists three bedrooms, including a bunk bed, four double beds and a living-room sofa bed; how acceptable the top bunk, shared beds and sofa bed are should be discussed before booking. Once sleeping places are spread out, the living room still has to serve conversation and luggage storage. If several families are travelling, I would keep some spare capacity so the shared living area is easier to use.
| Room type | Area | Beds / layout |
|---|---|---|
| City apartment | 55 sqm | 2 bedrooms: 1 large bed and 2 double beds | 1 living room: 1 sofa bed |
| City-view family apartment | 65 sqm | 3 bedrooms: 1 bunk bed and 4 double beds | 1 living room: 1 sofa bed |

Honkawacho next to the Atomic Bomb Dome, Peace Memorial Park about 490 m away
3-3-10 Honkawacho, Naka Ward, 7300802 Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan
The address is 3-3-10 Honkawacho, about a 490 m walk to Peace Memorial Park and about 540 m to the Atomic Bomb Dome. If a group mainly visits the park and the Dome, then eats toward Kamiyacho and Hondori, this location reduces meeting-up transfers. Kencho-mae Station is about a 1 km walk, estimated at 15 minutes, and Hiroden trams can also be arranged from the Honkawacho area. The apartment uses door-code self check-in and has a lift; when a large group arrives, I would first have one person keep the entrance and door-code information, then let everyone enter together.

Hotel exterior and shared spaces

Keep some spare capacity so the living room is easier to use
For a one-night short stay, sort out bed allocation, door codes and luggage first; for several nights, keeping the shared space tidy matters even more. This kind of apartment suits people who know each other and accept sharing tasks, especially since living-room use times also need coordinating once the sofa bed is opened out.

How I Would Choose in the End
I would prioritise staying with some spare capacity: the 55 sqm two-bedroom layout suits a smaller group, while the 65 sqm three-bedroom layout adds a separate room. Only if you accept shared beds, bunk beds or a living-room sofa bed can you really enjoy living in one unit; people who need separate bathrooms and fixed regular beds should also compare splitting into separate rooms.

Strengths and trade-offs to accept
Strengths I value
- Peace Memorial Park about 490 m away, the Atomic Bomb Dome about 540 m away.
- 55 and 65 sqm, two- to three-bedroom layouts to choose by group.
- It has a lift, door-code entry and kitchen living equipment.
Think through before booking
- Bunk beds, shared beds and sofa beds are not acceptable to everyone.
- Bathing, cleaning and rubbish need coordinating for a large group.
