Hotel S-Plus Hiroshima Peace Park

Hotel S-Plus Hiroshima Peace Park suits a budget-conscious city stay near the Peace Memorial area, but the aging rooms, noise and maintenance feedback are important. I would decide on the actual room category before treating the price as a bargain.

Rooms

The standard single is 13 m² with one single bed, with smoking and non-smoking versions. An Economy Twin is 17 m² with two singles, my starting point for two guests. A larger Superior Twin category is listed at 34 m², with sofa-bed arrangements depending on the plan. Some guests mention dim lighting and central air conditioning that is difficult to adjust.

Breakfast

As of the October 2026 source, breakfast changed on October 13 to an ochazuke-and-rice-toppings buffet on the first floor, offered 06:30–09:00. Advance purchase was ¥700, same-day purchase ¥800. I would add it when a warm rice breakfast suits my departure time; café options around Hondori offer more flexibility.

Getting around

The hotel is at 3-17 Komachi in Naka Ward, using Chuden-mae tram stop as the main arrival reference. I would visit Peace Memorial Park and its museum first, then walk toward Hondori or Shintenchi for shopping and okonomiyaki. For passengers with large luggage, the East 1 lift at Hondori is another possible approach.

One night or longer

Self-service luggage lockers and a 24-hour coin laundry make touring before check-in or washing clothes on longer stays easier. Review feedback is mixed: some guests praise cleanliness and service, while others mention weak sound insulation, odors, stained bathtubs, old furnishings and uncomfortable room temperatures. If sleep and bathroom condition matter most, I would compare other properties as well.

Strengths and limitations

  • + Chuden-mae access to Peace Memorial Park
  • + 13 m² single and 17 m² twin choices
  • + Luggage lockers and 24-hour coin laundry
  • − Specific complaints about noise and smells
  • − Old room fittings, bathtub and air-conditioning issues
  • − Small budget rooms are tight with suitcases

My verdict

I would consider S-Plus when location and total cost are the priorities, with the room’s age openly factored in. Light sleepers or guests sensitive to cleanliness and air conditioning should be more selective.
