Sejour Inn Capsule Hiroshima | Funairi-cho Capsule Stay — Private Sections and Upper or Lower Bunks, How to Choose
Sejour Inn Capsule

Who this place suits
- About a 1-minute walk from Funairi-cho tram stop.
- Standard upper/lower bunks and private capsules can be chosen to suit your needs.
- Towels, sleepwear and drinking-water refills are handy, suiting light packing.
How would I choose?
Travelling light for a night in Hiroshima, I would compare Sejour Inn Capsule; Funairi-cho tram stop is close, a private capsule leaves a bit more room to sort things out, but shared facilities and noise are things you have to accept.
Sejour Inn Capsule Hiroshima is at 10-20 Kawaramachi, and I would leave it for short-stay travellers who accept shared facilities and pack light. What draws me is its location near Funairi-cho tram stop, and that standard and private capsules can be chosen to suit your needs; the main trade-off is the sleeping space and other guests’ everyday noise, so it should not be chosen with the expectations of an ordinary hotel room.
A private capsule gives a bit more room to organise, but it is still capsule living
A private capsule is listed at about 4㎡ with one single bed; a private twin capsule is also listed at 4㎡, with bunk beds rather than two ordinary beds side by side. Standard mixed beds are split into upper and lower bunks, so I would first choose by how much climbing I am comfortable with, then check whether luggage can go in a suitable spot.
In November 2023, a guest in an upper bunk felt the space was rather small. If climbing is difficult, I would look at lower bunks first; two people choosing a private twin capsule should also like the bunk-bed way of sleeping.
| Category | Specification |

| Private twin capsule | About 4㎡, bunk beds |

Breakfast and supplies, then planning when to head out
The official site lists a free breakfast service, suiting people who want to eat in the property before heading out. Guests also like the towels, slippers, sleepwear and toiletries, plus tea, coffee and hot- and cold-water refills — very handy for a light one-night stay.
Get off at Funairi-cho, and leave a full block of time for the Peace Park
10-20 Kawaramachi, Naka Ward, 730-0856 Hiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan
It is about a 1-minute walk after getting off at Funairi-cho tram stop; before arriving, check the service destination and the check-in entrance. There is still city transport between here and JR Hiroshima Station, so I would sort out arrival and departure in advance, especially for anyone catching an early train the next day.
For sightseeing, leave half a day for the Peace Park and museum, then head to Hondori for restaurants and coffee; for okonomiyaki, plan a separate meal in Shintenchi. That way the capsule works as a simple place to rest, and daytime can go to the places you really want to see.

Laundry and luggage storage are handy, but shared noise remains a trade-off
The property has laundry facilities and luggage storage, so a longer stay can keep clothing light. Choosing a lower bunk reduces climbing, but it does not remove everyday noise from shared spaces.
In November 2024, a group of five travelling light for one night liked the amenities, tea and coffee, and staff, while also saying it was relatively noisy; in February 2026 there was also an individual review about an unpleasant communication experience. For me, shared noise and how much help I need at reception matter more to the choice than the name ‘private capsule’.

Choose Lower or Upper First, Then Decide on a Private Section
If I can accept shared bathrooms and other guests’ noise and travel with only simple luggage, I would put Sejour on a short-stay shortlist. A private twin is still a bunk-bed stay, so if I do not want to climb, I would look at lower bunks first and let the berth type fit my needs.

Pros and trade-offs to accept
Pros I value
- About a 1-minute walk from Funairi-cho tram stop.
- Standard upper/lower bunks and private capsules can be chosen to suit your needs.
- Towels, sleepwear and drinking-water refills are handy, suiting light packing.
Think this through before booking
- Capsule space is compact, with limited room to move while sleeping.
- Shared everyday noise may affect sleep.
- Getting to and from JR Hiroshima Station needs a city transfer arranged.
