How This Place Suits a Stay

  • 40㎡ one-bedroom layouts, comparable by room number.
  • Kitchenware and laundry drying have specific guest praise.
  • Central location, easy to arrange eating out and convenience stores.

How Would I Choose?

If I wanted a one-bedroom apartment in Kanayamacho, I would compare CasaEn’s units. A 40㎡ layout with a kitchen is very appealing for living in, but the entry information, room number and cleaning arrangements need to be prepared first.

CasaEn is around Kanayamacho 10, with options including one-bedroom apartments such as 201, 202, 203 and 301. I would first settle on a room number that can actually be booked, then look at beds and facilities; even though names in the same building are similar, another unit’s photos must not be taken as your own layout.

Room Types, Space and Choosing a Room: 40㎡ One Bedroom, See Clearly Where the Sofa Bed Goes

Options such as 201, 202, 203 and 301 are listed at 40㎡, combining one king bed, one double bed and a sofa bed. Although the beds look similar, I would still compare the actual floor plans and the living-room and bedroom distribution, especially whether the sofa bed, once opened, affects luggage and meals.

Guests have praised the cleanliness, spaciousness, full kitchenware and comfortable beds, though some find the beds on the soft side. Daily rhythms and bed preferences will affect how you actually sleep here more than room names like City, Comfort or Standard.

Other room types include 37㎡ Classic, 38㎡ Standard, 44㎡ Comfort and 47㎡ Deluxe options. I would choose by unit and area, then assign sleeping places across the king bed, double bed and sofa bed.

Kitchen and Takeaway: Leave Full Meals to the Shopping District

Guests like the tableware, kitchenware and kitchen cleanliness, and simple meals or heated takeaway are very convenient. I would keep one or two meals in the apartment and eat in Hatchobori or Shintenchi the rest of the time — that uses the facilities without having to cook every day.

Planning from Kanayamacho: Restaurants and Convenience Stores Nearby

10 Kanayamachō, Naka Ward, 730-0022 Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan

Before arriving, save the full street address, room number and entry method, and connect from the Kanayamacho tram stop. Some guests like how convenient the city centre is for sightseeing and that there is a convenience store nearby; Hatchobori, Hondori and Shintenchi can be put into the same shopping and dining trip.

Set aside separate time for the Peace Memorial Park and the Peace Memorial Museum. For me, the apartment’s advantage is being able to return to my own living space after going out, and eating takeaway back in the room is flexible too.

Get the Check-in Information Early; For Longer Stays, Look at Laundry Drying

From 2024 to 2026, guests have felt the entry information could come earlier and the process is a bit complicated; I would receive the official instructions before departure and save an offline copy. In 2025 a Room 302 guest reported odour and poor communication; in 2026 another traveller mentioned noise at night, so people sensitive to sound and smell should weigh this seriously.

Guests like the washing machine, laundry detergent and bathroom drying. Staying several nights lets you wash clothes and continue travelling; for just one night, first check whether the location and self check-in fit the trip.

Look at the Actual Unit First: 40㎡ Cannot Stand for Every Option

If you want to use the kitchen and laundry and stay in the Kanayamacho shopping district, I would first settle on a CasaEn room number. The 37–47㎡ sizes and different bed layouts cannot be swapped for each other, and entry information must also be obtained beforehand; people sensitive to odour and noise should then decide based on the reviews and replies for their own unit.

Existing 40㎡ Units and New 41–42㎡ Listings: Check the Numbers First

CasaEn in Kanayamacho has one-bedroom units of about 40㎡, as well as different Trip listings of 41㎡ and 42㎡ at the same address. A 40㎡ listing should be chosen by its own room number, actual bed types and photos; just because other listings in the same building show two double beds and a sofa bed, you cannot infer that all the furniture in 201, 202, 203 and 301 is exactly the same.

The newly compared 41㎡ option lists one king bed, one double bed and one sofa bed; the two 42㎡ entries list two double beds and a living-room sofa bed, all for up to six people. The difference is mainly not the area, but who can sleep in the bedroom, who uses the living room, and whether folding the sofa bed away each night affects others.

For two people staying consecutive nights, I would compare the simpler bedroom layouts and storage; for four to six people, I would put bed allocation, bathroom-use order and whether the living-room table can be kept free at breakfast first. This is not counting several booking entries together as ‘different hotels’, but the room-number choice that should genuinely be compared within the same building.

Kanayamacho suits arranging city dining and shopping districts in the same day. If you go out early and return late every day and treat the room only as a place to sleep, finding the right bed layout is more useful than a few more appliances; if you plan to use the kitchen, eat takeaway in the room or stay several nights, let the living flow and cleaning arrangements take part in the decision too.
