How this place works for your stay

  • About 180 m to Peace Park, about 230 m to the Atomic Bomb Dome.
  • A 60㎡ whole apartment suits groups who know each other well.
  • In-room kitchen, fridge and hot-water facilities.

How would I choose?

What draws me to the bHotel Dai3Himawari apartment is its closeness to the Atomic Bomb Dome and 60㎡ of space where a group can stay together. All three listings aim at ten guests but have only one bedroom, so the real differences lie in bed types, the living room and the actual unit; I would settle the sleeping arrangement first, then look at the total price.

Room-type differences

Listings 102779345 and 102823617 are both listed as 60㎡, with two large beds in the bedroom and three sofa beds in the living room; 117636127 is also 60㎡, but lists two double beds in the bedroom and likewise three sofa beds in the living room. They look similar, but bed types and unit numbers still need to be chosen separately.

For me, the biggest trade-off is that once the living room is slept in fully, it is no longer a complete shared space. Whether you want to chat together at night, someone sleeps early, or several families rest separately, agree on it first; staying with fewer people rather than simply filling all ten beds keeps the apartment’s original comfort more easily.

Kitchen and one bathroom — plan group routines well

The room has a kitchen, fridge and hot-water facilities, handy for simple meals and takeaway. Lunch and dinner can be left to the Honkawacho area or Hondori; for Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, add Shintenchi’s Okonomimura separately.

The main listing has one bathroom with a bathtub, so ten people will need to take turns morning and evening. My approach is to wash in batches, arrange the daily routine for a multi-guest stay, then gather to visit the park.

Plan arrival from the station, then link nearby sights

Honkawacho 2-6-8, Naka Ward, 730-0802 Hiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan

All three listings are at Honkawacho 2-6-8, about a 180 m walk to Peace Memorial Park, about 230 m to the Atomic Bomb Dome and about 740 m to Hondori Station. If you want to take your time over the north side of the park and then connect to Hondori dining and shopping, the location is very appealing.

Arrival can be planned from the Honkawacho tram stop direction; self-service key-pickup information must be kept with your own booking. The “30 seconds” and “1 minute” in the listing names are not a basis I would use to compress an itinerary; the museum is on the south side of the park, so still allow enough time for a visit.

Trade-offs for one night versus a longer stay

For just one night, sort out sleeping places first; for several nights, coordinating one bathroom and the living room matters even more. Folding the three sofa beds away during the day restores space for sorting luggage and sitting down to eat.

The three listings are in the same building, each with different bed types. Groups willing to share beds and use sofa beds will suit this kind of 60㎡ one-bedroom apartment better; anyone wanting each family to have its own bedroom will not find a match.

Ten guests means sharing — arrange the three sofa beds first

For a group wanting to be near the north side of the park, I would compare the three 60㎡ Dai3Himawari listings; allocate the two bedroom beds and three living-room sofa beds first, then look at guest numbers. Only if bathroom queues and living-room use are acceptable does the whole apartment hold its value, and the view still needs to be confirmed for the specific unit.

Three ten-guest listings: all 60㎡, bed types are the real difference

The Dai3Himawari building at Honkawacho 2-6-8 also has 60-square-metre apartment listings under Trip IDs 117636127 and 102823617. Both list one bedroom with two double beds, plus three sofa beds in the living room, for up to ten guests. Like listing 102779345 already compared in this article, they are multi-guest options in the same building, and different IDs must not be treated as three addresses.

I would treat the ten-guest maximum as a capacity, not ten beds that do not disturb each other. Four adults share the bedroom double beds two by two, and the rest of the party must use the living-room sofa beds; once the sofa beds are unfolded, places to eat, chat and sort travel gear during the day need to be rearranged.

If ten travelling companions keep the same routine and are willing to share a bathroom, this kind of apartment can concentrate activities; if children need to sleep early, older guests have difficulty moving, or someone wants to work in the living room, guest numbers should be split. For stays of three nights or more, towel drying, washing dishes and taking turns in the bathroom especially need thought.

Honkawacho tram stop is close to this building, and walking to Peace Memorial Park and the Atomic Bomb Dome also links easily into a walking route. Transport saves transfers, but when arriving with luggage, first know the corresponding room number and actual check-in instructions, rather than looking for the room by the building name alone at the door.

Pros and trade-offs to accept

What I value

  • About 180 m to Peace Park, about 230 m to the Atomic Bomb Dome.
  • A 60㎡ whole apartment suits groups who know each other well.
  • In-room kitchen, fridge and hot-water facilities.

Think through before booking

  • One bedroom, with three sofa beds in the living room.
  • Filling all ten beds compresses shared living space.
  • Different listings in the same building — bed types and window views are not interchangeable.
