Hiroshima Hotel Fukuromachi Apartments
I would shortlist Hiroshima Hotel in Fukuromachi for a longer stay with its kitchen and combined washer-dryer, but only if everybody can carry their luggage upstairs. The larger 46.3 m² apartment and the 26 m² studio have very different capacity and layout.
Rooms and layout
The 26 m² city studio or one-bedroom version lists two double beds. The 46.3 m² Classic Apartment has four double beds. I would compare how many guests are sharing the beds and where suitcases go, rather than choose the bigger unit solely from the bed count. An original guest reported a fourth-floor room with no elevator and other guests described three flights of stairs.
| Room type | Area |
|---|---|
| City Studio / One Bedroom | 26㎡ |
| Classic Apartment | 46.3㎡ |
Location and access
The apartment is at 9-4 Fukuromachi, Naka Ward, convenient for Hondori shopping, cafes and Shintenchi’s okonomiyaki area. Peace Memorial Park can be set aside for a separate sightseeing block. The final stairs from the street to the unit remain important even though the neighborhood is central.
A short or longer stay
Guests praised cleanliness, beds and the washer-dryer. One March 2026 traveler needed translated instructions to operate the machine; another mentioned cold air near the glass door in winter and insufficient blackout. The stairs remain a daily consideration, especially when carrying laundry or shopping. Staying several nights makes the appliance more valuable than stopping for only one.

Pros and cons
- + 26 m² and 46.3 m² apartment choices
- + Kitchen and washer-dryer for longer visits
- + Walkable Fukuromachi, Hondori and dining
- − Stairs to upper floors and no elevator according to guests
- − Some reports of winter drafts and poor light blocking
- − Self-catering and laundry instructions take effort

My verdict
I would book this when the group is comfortable with stairs and values apartment living for several nights. With heavy baggage, mobility limitations or a short overnight visit, the stairs could outweigh the kitchen and washer-dryer.
