Smile Hotel Hiroshima: Easy Eating Out in Nagarekawa, 16–17㎡ Room Types and Longer-Stay Cleaning
Smile Hotel Hiroshima

How to Stay Here
- Dining and shopping in Nagarekawa, Shintenchi and Hondori are easy to arrange.
- Standard rooms are all non-smoking, with clear 16 and 17㎡ choices.
- Guests like the showers, beds and sense of quiet.
How Would I Choose?
If eating in Shintenchi and shopping in Nagarekawa and Hondori are the priorities, I would consider Smile Hotel. Standard rooms are all non-smoking, while longer stays need a prior look at cleaning and coin-laundry arrangements.
Smile Hotel Hiroshima is at 7-10 Nagarekawa-cho, suited to people who mainly move around the city and want a simple, clean room to return to. I would first check whether the 16㎡ double or 17㎡ twin is enough, then bring breakfast and longer-stay cleaning into the comparison; if you need to catch trains from Hiroshima Station every day, allow extra for connections too.
How to Choose a Room Type: 1㎡ More, Still Mainly a Separate-Beds Difference
The double room is 16㎡ with one 152 cm-wide double bed; the twin is 17㎡ with two 100 cm-wide single beds, and standard room types are all non-smoking. The extra 1㎡ mainly solves the separate-beds need, and I would not treat it as a big increase in luggage space. There is also a 21㎡ universal room with one 152 cm-wide bed, offering more space.
A May 2025 twin-room guest mentioned luggage fitting under the bed frame, which is more practical for two people with suitcases than judging only by the walkway in photos. Several twin and double guests liked the feel of the separate shower; an April 2026 double-room guest stated plainly there is no bathtub, so anyone preferring a soak should think first.
| Room Type | Area | Bed |
|---|---|---|
| Non-smoking Double | 16㎡ | one 152 cm double bed |
| Non-smoking Twin | 17㎡ | two 100 cm single beds |
| Universal Room | 21㎡ | one 152 cm bed |

Self-Service Breakfast from 6:30, with Local Dishes as an Option
Breakfast is 6:30–10:00 with last entry at 9:30, and the adult official reference price is 1,500 yen per person (checked 2026-10-23); the menu introduces Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki and soupless tantanmen. I would compare breakfast-included plans for “an early, complete meal in the hotel”; if you only drink coffee, or leave at different times each day, a room-only plan fits schedules more easily.
Here I would judge first by dish type and schedule, not assume local dishes will suit my taste just because they are offered. What you want to eat that day, and how much breakfast inclusion adds to the price, are the reasons to add it.

About 8 Minutes on Foot from Hatchobori — Allow for This Stretch with Luggage
7-10 Nagarekawa-Nakaku, Naka Ward, 730-0028 Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan
Hatchobori tram stop is about 8 minutes on foot, and with large suitcases this stretch should be counted in arrival plans. Guests often mention nearby restaurants, convenience stores and shopping streets; I would link Okonomimura, Shintenchi and Hondori into one day, and leave another morning for Peace Memorial Park.
People who like hunting for coffee can fit several breaks into the shopping district; a room-only plan also suits early departures, so breakfast need not be eaten at the hotel every day.

Read the Longer-Stay Cleaning Rules First, and Allow Plenty of Laundry Time
A May 2025 twin-room guest staying three nights said there was no full cleaning, with towels and rubbish to be left outside the door, and rubbish had once not been collected; another twin guest in October liked the fresh daily towels and not having to move suitcases. The same arrangement can feel different, so I would first check exactly how towels, rubbish and sheets are handled, and not take “towel change” to mean a full daily clean.
From 2025 to 2026 there were comments about laundry and dryer cleanliness and unsatisfactory drying, and a September 2026 complaint about dirty air-conditioning outlets. Anyone relying on laundry for a longer stay should allow extra drying time; if housekeeping detail matters a lot to you, I would weigh these reviews together with the location.
