URBAIN Hiroshima Central Hotel | Hatchobori Laundry Facilities, Compare the 23.7㎡ Twin Room First for Two
Urbain Hiroshima Central

How to Stay Here
- Hatchobori shopping, Shukkeien Garden and the art museum link up easily.
- Breakfast from 6:00 suits an earlier start to the day.
- Coin laundry prices are clear, and longer stays can travel lighter.
How Would I Choose?
If I treat the room as a rest base and also need laundry, I would consider URBAIN. Travelling as a pair, I would look at the twin room first; breakfast from 6:00 makes early starts easy, but the menu, seating and booking method need considering together.
URBAIN Hiroshima Central Hotel suits people who want to stay around Hatchobori and spend most of the day out. The washing and drying facilities and breakfast from 6:00 are the everyday functions I value; the 11.8㎡ double room suits light packers or solo use better.
If both of us bring large suitcases, I would compare the 23.7㎡ twin first. The 15㎡ medium double has only a shower, so anyone wanting a bathtub also has to treat the bathroom type as a room-choice condition.
11.8, 15 and 23.7㎡: Choose Bed and Bathroom Separately
The 11.8㎡ Superior Double is listed on floors 9–13 with one double bed; the 15㎡ Medium Double has only a shower; the 23.7㎡ Superior Twin has two single beds. I would choose first by the number of suitcases and whether a bathtub is needed.
Guests on different dates all mention that unpacking suitcases in a small room is awkward, though some solo guests find it just right. If you want less luggage sorting and room to move properly after returning, the space difference of moving up to a twin for two is well worth comparing.
The one double bed of the 11.8㎡ Superior Double and the two single beds of the 23.7㎡ Twin are clearly different. If neither of the two wants to share a bed, the 15㎡ shower room still does not solve it, so compare the twin directly; if upgrading only for a bathtub, double-check that room’s bathroom again.
| Room Type | Area | Key Points |
|---|---|---|
| Superior Double | 11.8㎡ | One double bed; listed on floors 9–13 |
| Medium Double | 15㎡ | One double bed; shower only |
| Superior Twin | 23.7㎡ | Two single beds |

Early Opening Is Convenient; Weigh Expectations If You Want a Generous Breakfast
Guests in standard double rooms in October 2026 found the breakfast menu small and the seating crowded, while other feedback from May 2025 liked the breakfast, so taste and space are not a settled verdict. I would compare it as a meal before an early start; people expecting generous local dishes or a leisurely meal can choose to eat out instead.
The hotel’s official breakfast page, checked 2026-10-22, lists a 2nd-floor Japanese-Western buffet, 6:00–9:00. Reference prices are 1,500 yen for adults booking in advance and 1,700 yen on the day, and 1,300 and 1,500 yen respectively for primary-school children; if you are sure you want it, book a breakfast-included rate or apply to the hotel first. One April 2025 experience of staying four nights and still being unable to add breakfast on site means I do not treat ‘can be added’ as a guarantee of a seat that day.
Early Breakfast and Laundry Practicality: Two with Large Suitcases Should Compare the Twin Directly
If you want to stay in Hatchobori and need a 6 o’clock breakfast and coin laundry, I would look at URBAIN Central; with two large suitcases compare the 23.7㎡ twin first, since the 15㎡ shower room is still one double bed. Breakfast seating and the number of laundry machines are limited, so arranging early is what lets these functions genuinely lighten the trip.
Staying in Teppocho, About 540 Metres from Shukkeien
5-20 Teppocho, Naka Ward, 730-0017 Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan
The address is 5-20 Teppocho, and you can compare the tram stops around Hatchobori with connections from JR Hiroshima Station. The walking route from JR Station is about 1.1 km, and Kencho-mae Station is about 750 metres, about 11 minutes; with large suitcases, I would count the final stretch of walking as part of the journey too.
Fukuya Hatchobori main store is about 340 metres away, the prefectural art museum about 410 metres, and Shukkeien about 540 metres. I would visit the garden and exhibitions in the morning, follow with department stores and Hondori shopping in the afternoon, and leave dinner to Hatchobori or Shintenchi. Peace Park is about 1.2 km away, so a separate full visiting slot is more comfortable.

Laundry Makes Longer Stays Easy; With Few Machines, Arrange Early
Washing is 300 yen per load and drying 100 yen per 20 minutes, with two washers and two dryers; the data was checked 2026-10-22. Staying two or three nights lets you pack lighter, but you should still allow waiting and drying time.
Guests have praised cleanliness and service, but there are also cases of bathtub drainage or shower leaks. After an April 2025 guest reported bathtub drainage, the front desk helped with a room change; if you actually run into a problem, raising it early makes it easier to handle.
There is guest feedback about a small in-house public bath and a drinks service. In October 2026 travellers found the bath small and requiring a wait, so anyone wanting a soak should also allow time.

Strengths and Trade-Offs to Accept
Strengths I Value
- Hatchobori shopping, Shukkeien Garden and the art museum link up easily.
- Breakfast from 6:00 suits an earlier start to the day.
- Coin laundry prices are clear, and longer stays can travel lighter.
Think Through Before Booking
- The 11.8㎡ double room is compact, and two large suitcases are hard to arrange.
- Breakfast has drawn comments about the menu and crowded seating, and same-day add-ons may not have availability.
- Two washers and two dryers, so waiting is needed at busy times.
