How to stay here

  • Rooms have a kitchen and a separate bath and toilet, suiting family life.
  • Standard and loft twin rooms are 29.52㎡, and the top-floor room is 48.28㎡; bed width and floor can be compared separately.
  • The whole building is non-smoking, and you can choose by preference for a low bed or a loft.

How would I choose?

If a family wants a kitchen and living space, I would look at Hotel Suite Hiroshima Hakushima; the 29–30㎡ rooms and the larger top-floor room can be compared, and choosing a loft means considering whether every family member can manage the ladder.

What draws me to Hotel Suite Hiroshima Hakushima is its kitchen, separate bath and toilet, and relatively generous living space. For a family staying two or three nights, wanting to cook simple meals or sort luggage, I would consider it more readily than for a single night; the main trade-offs are the Hakushima location and how the loft is used.

A loft is fun, but it has to suit every family member

Standard Japanese-modern twin and loft twin rooms are both 29.52㎡, each with two 100 cm-wide single beds; the former is on floors 2–5 and the loft type on floors 6–9. The difference is the loft futon sleeping space, not an upgrade in area; the upper level requires climbing a ladder, so young children and older family members should be assessed first.

The top-floor deluxe twin is 48.28㎡, with two 140 cm-wide double beds instead, plus a futon arrangement, and a shower and hinoki bath are described. If you want a bath or more shared living space, this is clearer than simply choosing “a loft”; extra bedding and the number of guests still have to be chosen together, and an empty loft cannot be treated as bedding already included.

From Hakushima, Shukkeien Garden and the art museum pair well

8-17 Higashihakushima-cho, Naka Ward, 730-0004 Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan

The address is 8-17 Higashihakushima-cho; Hiroden Hakushima tram stop is about a 2-minute walk and JR Shin-Hakushima Station about 10 minutes — the two stops must not be confused. I would put Shukkeien Garden and the prefectural art museum on the same day, then shop in Hatchobori.

Guests have mentioned nearby convenience stores and Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki restaurants, handy for shopping before returning to the room; if you need to reach JR station early the next morning, arranging a taxi or transfer in advance makes departure more relaxed.

A longer stay has space, but keep the room-type confirmation safe

Guests like the space to open luggage, hang clothes and put away shoes, and some praise the laundry facilities. People staying several nights who are willing to cook in the room or sort laundry will get more use out of this living space.

In August 2026 a guest said they had booked a loft but were first assigned a room without one, and were changed back only after showing their confirmation; I would keep the full room-type name and bedding confirmation saved. A family of three in 2025 also mentioned intermittent traffic noise, and in August 2025 someone had an unpleasant service experience when calling a taxi early in the morning. When heading out early, I would arrange a transfer in advance so departure does not depend on a last-minute taxi.

Small kitchen, shared microwave and borrowed cookware

Rooms have a small kitchen, and there is a shared microwave on the 1st floor, suiting simple cooking and heating takeaway food. A cookware set must be borrowed from the front desk and numbers are limited, so if you plan to cook, arrange the loan first.

A family of three who stayed two nights in May 2025 liked the freezer compartment, sink, tableware and dishwashing supplies. The nearby FamilyMart works for simple supplies; for main meals, arrange them in Hakushima or Hatchobori.

Advantages and trade-offs to accept

What I value

  • Rooms have a kitchen and a separate bath and toilet, suiting family life.
  • Standard and loft twin rooms are 29.52㎡, and the top-floor room is 48.28㎡; bed width and floor can be compared separately.
  • The whole building is non-smoking, and you can choose by preference for a low bed or a loft.

Think through before booking

  • The loft requires a ladder; young children and older guests should choose carefully.
  • There has been feedback about an assigned room type not matching the booking.
  • Trips to Hatchobori, Hondori and JR station need travel planned.
  • Guests have reported intermittent traffic noise.
