How this place suits a stay

  • About 530 m to Peace Memorial Park and about 580 m to the Atomic Bomb Dome.
  • 50㎡ helps a family stay together and prepare meals.
  • The kitchen, refrigerator and microwave make simple meals and reheating takeaway food easy.

How would I choose?

Laforet Tokaichi’s 50㎡ and its location near Peace Memorial Park appeal to me; the beds and layouts of rooms such as 302 and 304 still need to be checked separately, and privacy cannot be judged from the “two-bedroom” room name alone.

Laforet Tokaichi suits people who want to focus on Peace Memorial Park and the Atomic Bomb Dome and stay in one apartment with their family. What I value is the 50㎡ and the simple meal-preparation space; the trade-off is that layouts and bedding differ by unit, so before a longer stay you should sort out the actual sleeping arrangements rather than deciding from the maximum occupancy alone.

Room types, beds and living space

The 302 and 304 balcony apartments, terrace apartments and family rooms are mostly 50㎡, with bedding in different combinations of single beds, double beds and sofa beds. If a family wants to share the living space, I would compare how much common space is left after the beds are made up at night, after considering the area.

In May 2025, a family of four adults liked the space and cleanliness, mentioning that they used Japanese mattresses at the time and had one separate bedroom. Companions who are willing to share the living area and accept Japanese-style bedding will more easily enjoy the convenience of staying together in one apartment.

Location, transport and nearby itineraries

Tokaichimachi 2-8-5, Naka Ward, 730-0805 Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan

The address is 2-8-5, Tokaichimachi, about a 530 m walk to Peace Memorial Park, about 580 m to the Atomic Bomb Dome and about 700 m to Orizuru Tower. If you want to put the north-west side of Peace Memorial Park and the Dome on the same day, this location is very attractive, and it is easier to return to your room to rest when tired.

Hiroshima Bus Center is about an 850 m walk away and Hondori Station about 1 km; for lunch and dinner you can start with the Tokaichi and Dobashi directions, then extend to Hondori if you want to browse the shopping street. Before arrival, save the entrance, room number and check-in information, which can cut down the time a group spends looking for information downstairs with their suitcases.

Trade-offs between one night and consecutive nights

Check-in is from 16:00 to 22:00 and check-out is before 10:00, so an evening arrival must fit this window; staying two or three nights makes better use of the living and meal-preparation space.

Guests mentioned older decor while also finding it very clean, which makes me see it as an apartment that wins on space and location. If every member wants a regular bed, does not want to share the living room at night, or wants full front-desk service, I would compare the total prices of several hotels together.

Kitchen and microwave: simple meals and takeaway both work

The room has a kitchen, refrigerator, microwave and stove, suitable for reheating takeaway food or making simple meals. For eating out, you can plan along Tokaichi, Dobashi or Hondori, and do your shopping on the way back, saving a separate trip.

Strengths and trade-offs to accept

Strengths I value

  • About 530 m to Peace Memorial Park and about 580 m to the Atomic Bomb Dome.
  • 50㎡ helps a family stay together and prepare meals.
  • The kitchen, refrigerator and microwave make simple meals and reheating takeaway food easy.

Think through before booking

  • When using a sofa bed or Japanese mattress, shared space at night decreases.
  • Guests have mentioned older decor; check-in runs until 22:00, so a late arrival needs to be arranged in advance.
