How to stay here

  • Peace Park is about 240 metres away and the Atomic Bomb Dome about 290 metres, handy for sightseeing.
  • The 56㎡ two-bedroom layout lets some of the group sleep separately.

How would I choose?

I would keep this one for families who want to focus on Peace Park and stay together in a whole apartment. The 56㎡ two-bedroom layout offers flexibility in splitting rooms, but the third double bed sits in the living room, so everyone needs to agree on sleep and chat times first.

What drew me to Mitao Bld – Huge 2 Bedroom Apt 4Mins Walk PeacePark 6Ppl is its Honkawacho location and 56㎡ two-bedroom layout. With up to six travelling together, you can share the apartment while keeping some sleeping space separate — a good fit for family or friends happy to live together.

The two bedrooms list two double beds between them, with another double bed in the living room. If someone sleeps early, the others need to move chatting, TV and luggage sorting somewhere suitable — something I would agree with everyone before booking.

56㎡, Three Double Beds: Six Guests Need to Accept Sharing Beds

This unit lists 56㎡ with two bedrooms and a living room, and three double beds for up to six guests. My approach is to settle how the two bedrooms are shared first, then check whether the person sleeping in the living room is fine with others walking past.

A couple with children and three couples have different needs; if everyone wants their own bed or their own bedroom, compare splitting into several rooms instead. Large suitcases should also be assigned to each person’s area, not piled up in the bathroom or by the entrance.

Six people sharing three double beds is a different way of staying from six people each with a single bed. Each bedroom has one double bed and the third is in the living room; if only four stay and the living room is kept free, evening chats and luggage sorting are easier to fit around everyone’s routines — a head-count option I would compare alongside.

Honkawacho 1-1-24: Peace Park and the Atomic Bomb Dome Are the Main Route

Honkawacho 1-1-24, Naka Ward, 730-0802 Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan

The address is Honkawacho 1-1-24; plan your arrival around the Honkawacho tram stop and the official entry instructions. The walking route to Peace Memorial Park is about 240 metres and to the Atomic Bomb Dome about 290 metres — a good order is to see the north side first, then walk slowly to the museum on the south side.

Kencho-mae Station is about 800 metres on foot, around 12 minutes, and Hiroshima Gate Park about 410 metres. For meals and shopping, connect to the Hondori district; for okonomiyaki, head on to Shintenchi.

Short Stays for the Location; Longer Stays for the Shared Living Space

For a one-night stay, the location near Peace Park cuts down on back-and-forth; for two or three nights, the shared area can serve as the daily meeting and rest spot. For self check-in, I save the room number, door code and contact details in advance, and each companion keeps a copy too.

What appeals to me most here is the two bedrooms plus the sightseeing location. When the group’s routines are close and everyone is willing to share beds, sightseeing by day and resting together on return makes the stay easier to enjoy.

Strengths and Trade-Offs to Accept

What I value

  • Peace Park is about 240 metres away and the Atomic Bomb Dome about 290 metres, handy for sightseeing.
  • The 56㎡ two-bedroom layout lets some of the group sleep separately.

Think this through before booking

  • Six guests must share three double beds.
  • There is a sleeping spot in the living room, so chatting and coming and going must fit around rest times.
