How to stay here

  • Dobashi tram stop is convenient, and the walking route to Peace Memorial Park is about 570 m.
  • Choose a women-only floor or a mixed dormitory according to your preference.
  • Nightly towels plus coin laundry suit light multi-night stays.

How would I choose?

I would recommend it to backpackers who can accept shared spaces and want to stay by Dobashi on the west side of Peace Memorial Park. The women-only floor, nightly towels and laundry facilities are practical advantages, while climbing to an upper bunk and the feel of the shared bathrooms need weighing first.

Mange Tak Hiroshima Hostel (Guest House Hiroshima Mangetak – Hostel) suits light travellers who are willing to share bathrooms and common spaces. What I value is the Dobashi transport, the location on the west side of Peace Memorial Park, and the laundry and drying facilities that multi-night stays can actually use.

If you only come back to sleep each day, a dorm bed is the straightforward choice; if your companions need more sleeping privacy, look at how group whole-room bookings and private-room options actually work. Whether you like the coming-and-going rhythm of a hostel affects how comfortable your stay feels more than the decor does.

Choose Women-Only, Mixed and Group Rooms Separately

The 2nd floor is women-only, floors 3–5 are mixed, and group whole-room bookings are also available. People who prefer a women-only dormitory can choose directly in this direction; if you do not want to climb to an upper bunk, I would request a lower bunk when booking.

There is also a 14㎡ twin option with two single beds, a different way of staying from one bunk bed in a dormitory. Two people who want to reduce shared sleeping space can compare the twin with a dormitory bed together.

A group whole-room booking is still a dormitory room; the hostel lists rooms with 10, 12, 18 beds and so on, which can be booked out even when the group does not fill them. Friends who do not want to sleep with strangers can compare this arrangement, though sleeping and communal life remain in dormitory form.

Hygge & Fika Café Bar and Communal Space

The in-house Hygge & Fika café bar offers a communal space where you can sit down and chat with fellow travellers, suiting people who like a hostel’s sociable atmosphere.

Get Off at Dobashi, About 570 m from Peace Memorial Park

2 Chome-1-13 Sakaimachi, Naka Ward, 730-0853 Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan

The address is 1-13 Sakaimachi 2-chome, near Dobashi tram stop, which guests have said is about a 3-minute walk away. The walking route to Peace Memorial Park is about 570 m and to the museum about 930 m, so it suits visiting from the west side of the park first, then continuing to Hondori.

The walking route from Hondori Station is about 1.2 km, about 17 minutes, and the shopping area connects to Shintenchi Okonomimura. Guests mention a FamilyMart and a 7-Eleven nearby, convenient for drinks and daily necessities.

Towels and Laundry Suit Multi-Night Stays; Upper Bunks and Ventilation Need More Care

Clean towels every night, plus coin washers and dryers, are very practical for travelling light for two or three nights. A mixed-dormitory guest who stated in August 2026 that they stayed three nights liked the shower, laundry and clothes-drying arrangements, while finding the ventilation weak and the upper-bunk climb and pillows less suitable; I would request a lower bunk early, and the outcome of any request still depends on the hostel’s reply.

A women-only dormitory guest in November 2025 praised the quiet at night but reported a drain smell in the 3rd-floor bathing area; in October 2026 guests still praised the cleanliness and staff. Experiences on different floors and beds cannot be merged into one conclusion. A party of four in July was once given door-code self check-in; if I would arrive late, I would first arrange the same with the hostel rather than treating this case as check-in being available at any time.
