How to stay here

  • Chuden-mae connections are convenient, and Peace Memorial Park is about 510 metres away.
  • Free breakfast has praised flavours including smoothies, starting at 6:30.
  • The Library Cafe offers extra lounge space.

How would I choose?

What draws me to Comfort Hotel Hiroshima Otemachi is the practical way it covers both breakfast and lounge space. Its Chuden-mae location is convenient for visiting Peace Memorial Park, and guests can use the Library Cafe; for two people choosing a room, though, I would first check whether it is a compact 13㎡ room or a 22㎡ twin with a bathroom, which matters more than the word standard in the room name.

Room differences

Economy double and compact king rooms are about 13㎡, while the 22㎡ standard twin with a bathroom is 9㎡ larger. I would first check whether you need separate beds, then compare luggage space for two people; with two large suitcases or shopping on a longer stay, the extra area will feel more meaningful than the word standard in the room name.

My approach is to use a compact room to control costs for a short, light stay; with two large suitcases or if you want more rest time in the room, compare the 22㎡ option first. Guests have also mentioned a smaller bathroom and an overall dated feel, so if bathroom space matters to you, it is worth looking closely at guest room photos.

Breakfast and nearby dining

Free buffet breakfast runs 6:30–9:30, mainly Western-style; guests in October 2025 liked the variety and smoothies, and guests in May and August 2026 also praised it as generous and tasty. This breakfast suits people who want a full meal before heading out, but a guest in March 2026 missed out because of crowds, so when your schedule is tight I would allow enough dining time and not assume a free breakfast means walk-in seating any time.

The Library Cafe is free for guests, open 10:00–24:00, and suits sitting down for a rest mid-itinerary. For lunch and dinner you can use nearby restaurants and convenience stores, or head to Hondori and Shintenchi for Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, without going back to the station for food every day.

Location, transport and nearby itineraries

3 Chome-7-9 Otemachi, Naka Ward, 730-0051 Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan

The address is 7-9, Otemachi 3-chome, and the Chuden-mae tram stop gives the most intuitive connection. Peace Memorial Park is about a 510-metre walk, the museum about 650 metres, and Hondori Station about 760 metres; I would put the museum visit, Hondori shopping and one Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki meal into the same day.

If you switch to the Astram Line to Hondori, the ground-level lift is on the East Exit 1 side, so with a large suitcase you can first choose your exit by lift location, then walk to the hotel. The advantage of staying here is that city sights are concentrated; if you must catch JR trains every day, still factor in transfer time to and from Hiroshima Station.

Trade-offs for one night versus consecutive nights

A one-night stay easily makes use of breakfast and luggage storage; for consecutive nights, laundry turnaround matters more. A guest in October 2026 reported laundry taking longer than estimated and still not dry after drying, so I would not leave clothes you need the next day to the last night’s wash.

Service has drawn praise in different months; a guest who encountered a small insect in October 2025 also praised the front desk’s quick handling. That reflects how that one case was handled, but it does not replace the room condition itself; a guest on a lobby floor in November 2024 also mentioned noise. My approach is to first look at the bed, room position and space you need, then treat the Library Cafe and breakfast as extra, practical lounge arrangements.
