Valie Hotel Hiroshima
Valie Hotel Hiroshima in Kamihatchobori makes sense for a quiet, museum-focused visit. Shukkeien and the Hiroshima Prefectural Art Museum are convenient, while rooms of 13–15 m² are best for light luggage.
Room types
The 13 m² standard single has a single bed and a non-smoking listing; the 14 m² small double and 15 m² corner double appear as smoking categories in the saved room information. The corner label does not guarantee a better view. I would put smoking status and bed size ahead of a small area difference.
- Standard Single · 13 m² · single bed (non-smoking)
- Small Double · 14 m² · smoking
- Corner Double · 15 m² · smoking
Location and attractions
The hotel is at Kamihatchobori 7-25. From the Jogakuin-mae tram area, I would visit Shukkeien and the art museum before walking toward Hatchobori or Hondori for food. Hiroshima Castle’s keep was closed to interior visits as of March 22, 2026, according to the original guide.

One night or longer
Guests appreciated the quiet district, helpful front desk and clean rooms. Others found lighting dim, the room small or temperature control uncomfortable. With only a limited number of washing machines, I would leave time for laundry on a longer stay.
Pros and trade-offs
- + Shukkeien and museum access
- + Quiet area and helpful reception
- – 13–15 m² compact rooms
- – Smoking categories and occasional air-conditioning or laundry concerns
My choice
I would choose Valie for a light-luggage art and garden itinerary rather than a trip that needs spacious rooms or immediate nightlife.
